A Touch of Trendy Tartan for Christmas!
Tartan is so trendy for Christmas, and this Cricut card has just the right amount to be festive! And this card’s intricate cuts do all the work of the design, creating a beautiful card with only a few elements.

Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink
4.25” x 5.5” card base
To begin this project, open the Cricut Design Space file and cut the four design elements. The two rectangles are patterned paper. The vine is cardstock and I recommend using the “cardstock - intricate cuts” setting to cut it out. The sentiment uses metallic vinyl so there’s no need for adhesive!
I always like to ink my edges on a project like this. I used Fired Brick on the plaid, and Bundled Sage on the edge of the dot. I also used some Forest Moss on my Ink Blending Tool to give some dimension and shading to the holly vine.
Once the inking was done, I simply assembled all the layers together onto a card base to make my card. I skipped using the little round berry parts of the holly vine. Instead, I replaced them with dots of Christmas Red Stickles. It’s much easier to do than gluing those tiny pieces and adds some extra sparkle!
This card is almost perfectly flat, so it’s a great design for mailing. Just make sure your Stickles are dry before handling it! (Let’s never discuss how I know to tell you that, ok?)
