CHA PaperArts 2015 Show Announced

The Craft & Hobby Association has announced the return of the CHA PaperArts Show for the summer of 2015, with a new (old) location that is sure to be popular with attendees.

The CHA PaperArts show replaced the former CHA Summer trade show, traditionally held in Rosemont, IL, on the CHA show calendar in 2014. The new show, specifically for the paper crafting segment of the industry, was held in Atlanta and featured a hotel-based format that was a great success with attendees. (For an in-depth description of the new format and how it worked, read my CHA PaperArts 2014 report.)

The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois, will host the CHA PaperArts 2015 show from July 21st-July 23rd, 2015.

Renaissance is a Marriott brand with a reputation for business-friendly hotels. The Renaissance Schaumburg hotel features a coffee house serving Starbuck's coffee and sandwiches, a bar and a steakhouse. For fun (or emergency shopping trips) there's a shuttle provided to nearby Woodfield Mall. The Legoland Discovery Center Schaumburg is across the street from the mall if you or someone you love just must have the new Lego Minecraft sets.

Few details have been released about the show but the limited information provided on the CHA website describes a format that seems the same as 2014:

  • Tuesday (21st): Education day with evening networking reception on the show floor

  • Wednesday & Thursday (22nd-23rd): Morning education program followed by exhibit hall all day

  • Wednesday evening: The Open Market is a "2-hour trade-only warehouse sale designed for you to buy products at great discounts to have in your store within days."

The return to the Chicago area for the summer show will likely be welcomed by show attendees, since the relocation of the summer event to Atlanta from Chicago was one of the loudest complaints about the 2014 show. The Renaissance Schaumburg location is only a few miles away from the former CHA Summer location in Rosemont, Illinois. Attendees will have access to both Chicago O'Hare and Midway airports for travel convenience.

Exhibit space for the CHA PaperArts 2015 show is currently available for reservation. Attendee registration will start on June 3rd. All show events, besides workshops, will be free for CHA members.
