Maya’s Life| Maya is a 20-year-old student from the Netherlands. She is currently studying architecture at the University of Technology in Delft and lives in student housing with two other architecture students. On the weekends, she loves to go home to her parents' home and spend time with them and her younger brother. Studying architecture full-time doesn't give her much free time but when she does carve out a few minutes for herself, she loves to design, scrapbook and have fun with friends.

Maya discovered digital scrapbooking through her mother. Although Maya was the one to start scrapping with traditional products and had to convince her mother how much fun scrapbooking was, her mother was the first to discover the world of digital products, and in Maya's words, "We were both instantly addicted to it!" They scrapped together for a couple of years when Maya was a young teen and then in 2010, at just 17-years-old, Maya "was convinced that designing was what I wanted to do and my first shop opened on my birthday!"

Maya’s Style & Inspiration| Maya describes her style as a "mix of vintage and traditional with an artsy touch." She likes that her products combine the two styles and can be used for all types of layouts and have a broad appeal. She finds inspiration everywhere and loves to be creative. "For me, inspiration can be anywhere and anything. One day it’s a magazine, the next a TV commercial. Music, movies, ads, architecture, everything! I just love to be creative, either with paper and paint in real life and scan it or just playing around in Photoshop."

Maya's Digital Products |  Maya's products can be found at Oscraps and her entire store can be found at Maya de Groot designs. Because of her school schedule, she does not have a release schedule but typically creates at least two products every month. Her two favorite products are her Passion for Paper mega-kit - it is created entirely by hand - and her Zen & the Art of: Steam Machines mega-kit - which took her two years to create.

Maya’s Team| Maya's team consists of 12 members (including her mother!) and you can read more about them here: Maya de Groot Design Team. She is not currently seeking new members but added "if you think you’re perfect for my team and that I need to have you, you can always send me an email!" (Click to email Maya!)

Fun Facts| Maya's favorite food is enchilada pie, which she describes as "enchiladas but stacked as a pie!" Sounds yummy! Her favorite color is aquamarine because it's the color of the sea from various locations she would love to travel to one day and her favorite Friday night activity is watching a movie or a TV series to relax after a busy and stressful week of school.

Where to find Maya| Besides Oscraps, you can find Maya at Facebook/Maya de Groot designs and at Twitter/mayadgdesigns.
