New Silhouette Cameo Machine Announced

Silhouette America announced today that a revamped version of their flagship Silhouette Cameo electronic die cutting machine will be released soon.

The Cameo was definitely due for an update, as the previous version was released in 2011. This made it three years old, a dinosaur in the electronics world.

The new version of the Silhouette Cameo will be available from the Silhouette Online Store on October 22nd, and from additional retailers around the end of the month. It will have an MSRP of $299, the same as the previous version of the machine.

The updated Cameo will be compatible with all existing Cameo supplies and accessories, but have a few new exciting features:

  • Full color LCD touch screen

  • On-board tutorials

  • New spring steel rollers

  • Cross cutter for neat, easy removal of rolled materials

  • Guide marks to ensure proper alignment of materials

  • USB drive port

  • Storage compartment on side that holds blades or cross cutter

  • Custom sleep mode to save power (set it to activate in your preferred length of time)

If the new Cameo is more machine than you need, Silhouette is running a great deal on the Silhouette Portrait that I love for the next week. The bundle includes the machine, a cover, and some of the most on-trend specialty media from Silhouette, their vellum and printable foil medias.
