Webster's Pages, October Afternoon to Partner on Distribution

Webster's Pages and October Afternoon have announced a partnership in which Webster's Pages will take over distribution of a large portion of October Afternoon's catalog of product lines.

While October Afternoon will maintain shipping of their Daily Flash lines, and their previously released collections, all of their new paper collections will be shipping in the future from Webster's Pages. This will start with the Silent Night collection, in late September or early October. Other upcoming collections include Public Library (mid to late October) and Treasure Map (December 1st). Customer service for the lines they ship will also be handled by Webster's Pages.

A rep for Webster's Pages told this site that the companies will also be producing some of their lines together, an arrangement that is becoming increasingly common in the industry as companies look to reduce costs by partnering on production runs.

It's no secret in the industry that October Afternoon has long had a reputation for being unreliable in being able to meet shipping schedules for product. This new arrangement should free them up from dealing with those challenges to focus on their talent for creating unique and beautiful product. October Afternoon isn't alone in taking this route - several major designers have gone this route lately, choosing to abandon dealing with the complications of production logistics and license their products to other manufacturers to produce instead.

In related news, October Afternoon is having a warehouse sale later this week for people in the area of their Minnesota warehouse. Check out all the details on their blog.
