Scrapworks Product Line Sold

After increasingly widespread rumors began to surface recently among industry watchers regarding the future of Scrapworks, Inc, the following press release was issued today by As You Wish Products, LLC.:

On the eve of CHA Summer Show in Chicago, As You Wish Products, LLC. announced today that it has acquired the Scrapworks product line and trademark from Scrapworks, Inc. As You Wish will operate Scrapworks as a separate division of the company. Company officials said that the company will continue to service the same retail customers and that these valuable customers will not see an interruption of business. “Scrapworks will continue to create innovative products and fresh ideas that help our customers capture the color and excitement of everyday life”. Said Melanie Sovereen, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

When asked about the new line, Ann Merrill, Creative Director for the company said, “We extend to you our most heart-felt invitation to experience the uncompromising, unforgettable, unmatched experience of working with the finest products in the industry. We are excited about new products that will be coming out under the Scrapworks label.”

Scrapworks will be exhibiting at CHA summer in Chicago at the end of this month. Booth #321. The Scrapworks brand has been around since 2002. For more information on the brand go to www.scrapworks.com

As You Wish Products, LLC was founded in 2001. The company is primarily involved with overseas sourcing and product development for the toy and craft industry.

It is interesting to note that the wording of this release makes it clear that the company itself has not been sold. Only the company's assets - it's product line and trademarks - were sold. It was not sold apparently as a complete operating entity. It should be interesting to see how the new company continues to develop the old product lines.
