Love Cards with Fancy Pants Designs!

I had some card making fun recently with Fancy Pants' "Be Loved" collection. This collection encompasses some of my favorite things creatively right now: tags, pink, blue, and gray (to name a few). And like it's name suggests, it's perfect for making love cards for your favorite person (and not just on Valentine's Day!)

Using tags to make cards is one of my favorite shortcuts, and "Be Loved" has great tag sets with it that are perfect for cards. I couldn't resist!

Supplies - Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Strips). Tag: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Large Decorative). Chipboard: Heidi Swapp Color Magic. Stamp: Tim Holtz for Stamper's Anonymous (Words for Thought). Ink: Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black), Close To My Heart Pigment Minis (Crystal Blue, Cranberry, Juniper, Cotton Candy). Misc: Tim Holtz idea-ology Tiny Attacher, Ribbon (unknown).

I used the tag as a base for a sentiment stamp and I had an immediate card! I added a few additional touches of detail - the resist hearts by Heidi Swapp, colored to coordinate with the tag - and a little inking. I stapled some random crumpled velvet ribbon that I'd had forever in my stash and had been waiting for the perfect use for through the tag to add a little dimension and texture.

In addition to the pastel colorway, the collection also has a red, gray and pink dimension to it:

Supplies - Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Crush). Sticker: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Tape). Tags: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Small Decorative). Ink: Colorbox Mixed Media Ink (Pewter). Tools: Tim Holtz idea-ology (Sanding Grip, Tiny Attacher). Ribbon: unknown.

For this card, I let the collection's small decorative tags do all the work! One of the collection's border stickers filled the remaining space on the front of the card. It wasn't sufficiently vintage enough for me, so I scuffed it up with my Tim Holtz idea-ology sanding grip to give it a bit of a distressed look.

Flair - in the form of badges, that is - is all the rage right now and Fancy Pants has joined the trend with the "Be Loved" collection. One of the collection's flair badges made a great addition to the stamped sentiment on this tag:

Supplies - Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Strips, Crush). Tag: Fancy Pants "Be Loved" (Large Decorative). Flair: Fancy Pants "Be Loved". Stamp: Penny Black. Ink: Colorbox Mixed Media (Pewter), Close To My Heart Pigment Mini (Crystal Blue), Ranger Archival (Jet Black). Ribbon: Unknown. Tools: Tim Holtz idea-ology Tiny Attacher, Fiskars Border Punch (Threading Water).

This time, instead of using a border sticker to fill the white space, I used a Fiskars border punch to create a decorative strip for the edge of the card. Inking the edge of the curves provided a faux drop shadow that gives the border some depth.

Note - All of these cards look in the photos to be on a solid background but in fact they are on "B" sides of the patterned papers in the "Be Loved" collection and have a textured subtle pattern to them.
