Gallery Highlights | 12.15.2012

Welcome to Gallery Highlights for this week! This week’s finds include designs with rounded corners and some really fun techniques. Let’s go take a look at them and I hope you like them all as much as I do. Don’t forget – you can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Awesome by Kay Rogers

Kay’s layout struck me immediately. I love rounded corners and she has used them perfectly in this layout. She created this layout for her design team using the new line from Allison Kreft for Webster’s Pages. She rounded and distressed the edges of each piece of paper, as well as the photo, and used consistent spacing between all of her elements. Excellent design!

all roads… by donna goar

Donna also used rounded corners on each element of her layout but she also overlapped some of the frames and blended photos. I love the layers and the blending and all of the little details.

You’re my favorite by listgirl

Christine used a die-cutting machine to create her title tag and I love the way she layered it over plain cardstock so that it jumps off the page. She matted her single photo and used an adorable banner underneath it to ground the page. I love the details she included in her stamping and choice of embellishments, as well as the colors she used.

And here’s even more rounded corners! Wendy used a photo collage in her layout but she framed the focal photo to highlight it. It’s another great use of rounded corners, and a great way to draw attention to a single photo in a larger collage.

Winter Wonderland by Sophie Crespy

Sophie’s layout has so many details that I find myself looking at it again and again to find new elements that I like. She used a die-cutting machine to cut out her background and then created dimension with brads and adhesives in multiple layers of the background as well as under the photos. Beautiful techniques that really add detail and interest to this fun layout.

And there you have them – our gallery highlights! I love all of these and I really do wish we had time and space to feature more of the amazing designs out there.  Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work with us this week. Like them all but the first, “awesome” and the last “winter wonderland” are my faves. The placing of those little cameras and other embellishments go a long way in balancing out the page entitled “Awesome”. In “winter wonderland” the snowflakes punched out with the backing paper showing through is a look I love but don’t remember to use, so thanks for the reminder! The colors and LO in general are great also.
