Wow, the news has been coming fast and furious this past week! We’ve got a little bit of everything – including new products, a big sale, a design team call, and a big industry retirement – to talk about.
(And did you notice the new name? Noteworthy is now “Update”!)
In case you missed our big announcement last week, Nally Studios is the new owner of Craft Critique, the craft industry’s leading product review website. We have exciting plans for the website and hope that both existing Craft Critique readers and our Scrapbook Update audience will like what they see as we grow the site.
Digital diva Renee Pearson is having a creative team call for 2013 for her online education website. Creative team members will gain free access to classes and workshops, and participate in creating layouts, photographs and projects to be used as class samples. They will also be expected to take part in promotional activities via blogs, social media and other venues. Deadline for applications is November 20th.
Scrappin’ Sports & More is leaving the scrapbook industry, and they are throwing a big warehouse sale on the way out! The sale will be at: Kenakore Solutions, 2070 Schlater Drive, Sidney, OH 45365 on November 16th (Fri) & 17th (Sat), from 9am-3pm. Sale is described as “cash & carry” and instructions are to bring your own boxes and bags.
Technique Tuesday is also having a sale – their “progressive” retirement sale for products they are discontinuing. The longer you wait to order, the deeper the discount gets – but the higher the chance the item you covet will go out of stock. How brave are you?
- November 9th – 15th: 40% off.
- November 16th – 22nd: 50% off.

The Craft & Hobby Association has announced that Sue Turchick has been appointed as Vice President of Membership. Turchick, who has owned Scrapbooks Too in Bloomington, MN for 12 years, is already familiar to many in the crafts industry as the president of the Crafter’s Home buying group since 2008.
Turchick laid out her mission in joining CHA in the announcement:
I am honored to be given the opportunity to work with Andrej and the CHA staff to create new programs and enhance existing ones to ensure that our members have as many tools as possible to help them be successful. As a crafter and former store owner, I am passionate about this industry and am committed to assisting all CHA constituents (regardless of size) as every member is critical to keeping crafting alive and growing in households around the world.
Turchick’s official start date with the Craft & Hobby Association is January 3rd, 2013.
Ranger has announced a not-unexpected addition to their product line. The color palette for Tim Holtz’s Distress Stains is being expanded to include the 12 seasonal distress ink colors that were just made a part of the permanent distress ink palette.
The new Distress Stain colors are now shipping to stores.
Tim Holtz also had another announcement to make – four new stamp set designs from Stamper’s Anonymous that are part of his Blueprint series.
Craft-Dee Bowz is having a design team call. The call is open until December 1st – see their blog for all the details.
