CHA Winter 2013: Stampendous [video]

Since I am on the Stampendous blog team, I was excited to visit their booth at CHA. Their booth at CHA Winter 2013 was filled with lots of beautiful cards and other creative projects from their design team. Stampendous introduced several new stamp designs (clear, cling and wood mounted), new glitter colours and other fun stuff for CHA Winter 2013.

One of my favorites in the booth was the mirror displays on their wall – each mirror was decorated differently by their design team member and featured the use of their stamps, glitter, mica and color fragments.

Stampendous also showcased their super fine glitters. I could not resist the urge to touch it – it’s almost like velvet!

My absolute favorites in the Stampendous booth were Fran’s Encrusted Jewels Kits. There are so many different ways you can use them! And I had no idea you can emboss from the back side! Here’s a quick video I took at the show:

Video | DIY Mason Jar Snowglobe

This is my favorite time of year, and one so filled with crafting inspiration all around – from DIY blogs to Martha Stewart, regular crafters to those who only get creative for the holidays. One project that keeps popping up are snow globes. I don’t think mason jar snow globes are a new idea, but they are popular showing up even in trendy shops like Anthropologie.

Today I want to share with you how I make jar snow globes – though I call mine “faux snow globes” because I opt to skip adding liquid and just make pretty scenes. With just a few little treasures, a jar, and some adhesive you can make yourself a great project. To better illustrate my process I have created a video to share: [Read more...]

Many thanks to Julie for sharing her expertise with us!]

When May Flaum asked me to contribute a technique to her book, Scrapbook Workshop: The Best Techniques From Your Favorite Scrapbook Bloggers, I was incredibly flattered and then incredibly scared.  I wanted to pick the absolute perfect technique that was going to be simply the most amazing thing in the whole world.  Well, May gave me some good advice: She told me not to overcomplicate it and just do what came naturally to me.
