Big Picture Classes Acquires Ella Publishing

Big Picture Classes announced today that it has acquired ebook publisher Ella Publishing Co..

Ella Publishing was founded in 2009 by former Simple Scrapbooks magazine personalities Lain Ehmann and Angie Lucas. Co-founder/CEO Lain Ehmann departed the company in January 2010 and was replaced as CEO by Co-founder Angie Lucas. Former Simple Scrapbooks staffer Wendy Smedley stepped into a management role at that time as well. Ella Publishing’s library of offerings currently includes 32 ebook titles on scrapbooking and photography, by such well-known industry figures as Stacy Julian, Renee Pearson, Rebecca Cooper, Courtney Walsh and Elizabeth Dillow. Former Simple Scrapbooks graphic designer and personality Cathy Zielske is responsible for the signature “clean and simple” graphic look of Ella Publishing’s line of titles.

Noteworthy | 8.11.2012

Things are picking up again after a post-CHA lull…there’s some really great news and announcements from some big names this week, as well as  some new design team calls and other fun things to check out!

Project Real Life by Becky Higgins

Big Picture Classes is gearing up for a couple of really big events. Registration just opened for Becky Higgins’ upcoming class Project Real Life, which is the 4Experts series class for the 4th quarter of 2012. The class will go in-depth into the philosophy of scrapping and living that is behind the Project Life products.

From Sept. 4th-17th, Big Picture will also be running a free event called Big Idea Festival! Big names like Ali Edwards, Cathy Zielske, May Flaum, and Stacy Julian will each be taking a turn teaching a day of the the Idea Festival. Continue Reading →

CHA Summer 2012 | Scrapbook Update Top Ten Hot Picks!

Some shows there’s so much buzz about specific products that the Hot Picks practically write themselves. This show, however, the standouts were more difficult to pick out from a solid field of offerings at a quiet show in Chicago.
