Silhouette Promo | Vinyl Wall Art

Thanks for checking out part three of our Black Friday weekend Silhouette series!

Vinyl wall art – especially text – is all the rage right now in home decor. However, we live in a home that is new construction (well, a little over ten years old) and one of the modern shortcuts many builders use to save money is to put up texture on walls. The texture makes it impossible to stick things like vinyl wall art and other adhesives to the walls.

Even though I can’t stick vinyl directly to my wall surfaces, however, there is another way to use some of those beautiful text designs on my walls: frame them!

Silhouette Promo | Easter Candy Bags & Boxes

Today I’m bringing you two of my favorite things together – Easter candy and a Silhouette promo – along with another favorite of mine, the Silhouette cut files of designer Lori Whitlock! She designed both of the candy container templates I used for these projects.

These fun containers make a great way to share a sweet treat with someone, and can be adapted for any holiday with themed supplies. I used my Silhouette’s Print & Cut feature, along with some themed print & cut files, to make these festive for Easter.

Silhouette Giveaway & Promo: 30% off All Supplies

I recently needed to make a card for a friend’s wedding. I hadn’t yet tried the Silhouette Glitter Kit, so I decided this was the perfect occasion to try it out. After all, if you can’t glitter a wedding, what can you glitter?
Silhouette Wedding Card

Supplies – Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee (London Market 6×6). Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Distress (Antique Linen). Pens: Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Pens (Black Soot, Warm Lipstick). Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Sophie’s Sentiments). Die Cutting Supplies: Silhouette Portrait Machine, Silhouette Glitter Kit, Silhouette Cut File (2 Wedding Icons by Lori Whitlock).

I used my Silhouette Portrait machine to cut the shape of the rings out of the double-sided adhesive paper that came in the kit. I peeled the first side and stuck the shape down and then peeled to reveal the adhesive for the glitter. I opened the glitter to shake it onto the adhesive and was absolutely blown away at how fine it was. The texture is beautiful and it stuck wonderfully with very full coverage. Continue Reading →

Project | Olivia Tattoos [Silhouette Promo]

Ever since I discovered in the Silhouette online store that they have Olivia licensed images, I’ve been dying to find a project that they are right for. My daughter loves Olivia – we must own every single Olivia book, stuffed toy, and video every produced!

The new Silhouette promo for the company’s specialty media gave me a great idea of what to do with the images – temporary tattoos! The house is decorated in top to bottom Olivia (or at least it feels like it at times), so why not the kid too?

Creating a tattoo with the Silhouette temporary tattoo paper is as simple as selecting a print and cut image (or making your own), flipping it to create a mirror image, and then printing it on the tattoo paper. When you are done printing, you adhere the adhesive sheet over the top of the tattoo print. Then you run it through your Silhouette machine.

After I did all that and peeled away the excess tattoo paper, I was left with these tattoos on my mat:
