Welcome to another edition of gallery highlights! This week’s layouts are wonderful examples of how to use  texture and soft colors on a layout in a way that really highlights the focal photo. Let’s go take a look and I hope you like them all as much as I do. That Boy by Momma_Paparazzi

Michelle used a dark background for the base of her layout, layered on top of patterned paper. Over the dark cardstock, she layered more patterned paper, tags, doilies and buttons. The soft colors of her smaller layers bring both light and attention to her photo. This layout is filled with so much texture and so many fun layers – they all work together to showcase this most adorable photo.

Meeting Young House Love by jesshunt

I love this first layout for so many reasons but primarily because it has such a happy feel to it. The photos show happy, smiling faces and the way Jess has gathered all of them in the middle of the page and then layered fun and bright colors around the edges adds a lot of energy to the page. The little wood veneer shapes and arrow epoxy bring energy and movement to the layout, too. What a great, fun-filled photo collage!

Welcome to another edition of gallery highlights! This week’s layouts are all about using photo placement to build a solid design. All of these designers used classic, traditional designs but added something unique to each of them that truly make their layouts shine. I love every single one of these layouts and I can’t wait for you to see them. Let’s go take a look and I hope you like them all as much as I do. Turning 4 by Kathleen Summers

Kathleen grouped her photos and embellishments in the middle of her page and then worked out towards the edges with stitching and stamping. I really love that a large portion of her collage is a mixed pattern of papers forming a sunburst pattern. It draws more attention to her focal photo and adds a lot of color and energy to the layout. It’s a beautiful layout made even better with a fantastic design.

I love & miss you by kellyras

I first saw Kelly’s card a couple of weeks ago and have been drooling over it ever since. First, I love the color scheme. Red, white and blue is such a classic color scheme but Kelly’s use of light blue hues in her card brings a bit of modern sophistication to the color scheme. It’s an absolutely beautiful combination and I can’t wait to see more of Kelly’s work.

2012 Cover Page by anke

Anke is just finishing up her 2012 Project Life album and her cover page is simply gorgeous! She used 4 photos to represent the seasons and cropped them into thin rectangles that then blend into the date. She added a simple quote, an oversized bracket and some lightly textured brushes to finish it off and the result is simple and stunning!
