With the excitement of CHA becoming a fading memory, and the new year stretching ahead, it’s time to bring Noteworthy back to Scrapbook Update, and just in time! Things are getting exciting in the scrapbooking world and I have some inspiring projects, tutorials and news to share this week.

Whether you’re prepared or procrastinating, tackling sales and crowds out shopping this weekend, or spending time with family, there is one thing most of us have in common: the need for inspiration. With time being in demand this time of year more than ever, this week I have a special edition of Noteworthy to share with you – a round-up of many of the best holiday classes and events that can all be found online. So no matter where in the world you are, whatever your crafting preferences, you may just find something here that interests you and that you would like to participate in:

It’s hard to believe, but this will be the fifth year that Tim Holtz offers his amazing twelve tags of Christmas series on his blog. What is incredible about this series is not just that each day he creates a different tag, but that he shares in detail exactly how he has created it including products used. Tim shares an incredible amount of information on techniques and shares photos of all the steps, and at times adds in videos as well. Here is the just-released promo video for the event this year:

The magic starts December 1 at Tim’s blog. The archives can also be viewed on his blog- in the left side bar there is a listing of the previous years with links to those tags. I have an announcement to make – this has been a week full of news and announcements! Here’s all the latest I’ve found – this week’s noteworthy items:

Ranger has announced that they have a new signature designer: Dyan Reaveley.

Dyan and Ranger are developing a signature line of craft products called Dylusions, and she is already an integral part of the Ranger Designer Team. Dyan has been teaching and demoing with Ranger for several years and is known for her creativity with layering color, images and thought-provoking collages.

Dyan’s Dylusions stamp line, which is manufactured by Stampers Anonymous and distributed by Ranger, debuted at the Summer CHA show and is now available. There are no specific product details released yet about her new signature line, but the new “Dylusions” craft product line will debut with Ranger at the Winter CHA show in January.

Pink Paislee announced that beginning November 14th they will begin exclusively selling digital product through JessicaSprague.com.

We have been interested in joining the digital scrapbook market ever since we opened our doors in 2008. Almost every week we hear from customers who are interested in purchasing our patterns in a digital format, so being able to make this announcement public is very exciting for us!

Customers can expect to find paper packs, element packs, sticker packs, digital brushes, quickpages and more in the coming months. Some will be new and exclusive digital products while others will be developed from previous paper collections. [Read more...]

The days are getting shorter here, which means they seem to fly by that much faster. I can hardly believe another week has passed, and it’s time to share the noteworthy stories I’ve found:

Let’s start with a company and their customers who have made a $60,000 donation possible! I’m talking about Stampin’ Up! and their recent donation to the BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation) in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A special Strength & Hope stamp set and Strength & Hope digital kit were designed specifically for the campaign, and contained inspirational messages and images. Both were promoted through Stampin’ Up! direct-sales representatives, also known as demonstrators.

BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide. For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org.

It’s always so wonderful to see a company doing something to give back and working towards making a difference for a cause.

Big Picture Classes announced their 2012 line-up of 4-Expert Classes this week. Most notable for 2012 is that Big Picture will be featuring Scrapbooking’s first true celebrity designer Becky Higgins in her first ever online class. [Read more...]
