Cards | Made with LOVE for Friends

Hi All… Card Annex Designer Deena Ziegler here to bring you some card inspiration today.

This week I got a couple uninterrupted hours to get creative in my craft room. I set out to create one “friendship” card for my post today, but, that turned in to a run away session of cutting, gluing and making a huge mess. I was in love with the super cute – just my style – papers from Bella Blvd that were sent to me last week. I love when all the creative planets align and designing projects I love becomes so easy!

While the Bella Blvd “Love and Marriage” line was meant to be for weddings, I think it’s also well suited for all girly occasions.

For this little 4×4 card, I layered up several layers of patterned paper and topped it off with a Thinlit die from Sizzix, called “For the Record 2 – Documented” from the new Echo Park collection. The sticker letters are so tiny and adorable, I love well designed products like these.

Simple Hearts

What could be better than an afternoon creating with My Minds Eye! I’m seeing trends towards simplified designs and that fits my style perfectly. I excuted simplicity by cutting several die-cut hearts from patterend paper from the Collectable collection. I lined the hearts up tops to bottoms in two rows. Just for a little interest I added pop dots to one heart on the top row.  I didn’t want to cover up the hearts so I chose some thin twine and a simple black button to make it all pop! Personally I’ve been challenging myself to make some cards that are suitable for giving to the guys in our lives. Below you’ll find a card for the guys… no hearts, no flowers.

Strawberry Sentiments!

I love making and having these multi use sentiment cards on hand for those times when I’m running out the door and need a card for almost any occassion. I just check the box, and it’s a sweet but quirky way to send or give a greeting.

Strawberries have just come in to full season and they are delicious here in California! After several servings I remembered I had this strawberry die cut and made up a few cards for the spring season.

The sentiments are easy to make. I created the block in my word processing program, highlighted the text and selected the “bullets” option. My “bullets” had this tiny circle option.
