Project | Travel Album: Snapshots Creativeworld 2014
The Creativeworld 2014 travel album is back! With all the other projects that I have to do, this album keeps getting sidelined. But I am bound and determined that this travel Project Life album will get completed, so I keep plugging away at it a bit at a time in odd free moments.

Creativeworld travel Project Life layout
This layout assembles some random memories from various parts of the show: my wardrobe, a night out for a press dinner, and my appearance onstage at the Creative Talks area, among other things.
There was no overall color theme to the pictures themselves, so I chose the light and airy High Five core kit that was released late last year for this layout. As you'll see, the design of this core kit also offers some great opportunities for customizing the cards to my specific theme and to personalize the color.
Snapshots travel project life
This layout is somewhat different from previous ones because it has a vertical 4x6 card layout on the left page. I selected this page protector because I knew it would work for both the previous page's photos and this page's. When planning pages I am always thinking about what will go on the back for the next page!
While the layout is titled "snapshots" there is nothing random about the photo placement on it. Photos are grouped into areas by topics, along with journal cards that correspond to them. I covered a couple of topics on this side of the page.
On the card with the pretzel photo, I used stamps from two sets by Kelly Purkey for Hero Arts. One of them, Kelly's Food Planner, is designed to be used in planners, but I find that many of her planner stamps are also perfect for use in Project Life. The "take out treat" and star ratings work perfectly for this journaling card!

The title card was created with alphabet stickers for the "snapshots" part, and then a label sticker to put the location and date. Hanging the label off of the card's edge grounds the label. The pair of straight edges from the label and the camera graphic create a frame around the title word.
Once piece of customization I created isn't easily noticeable, unless you are very familiar with the High Five core kit.

The "Hello Memories" journaling card comes as a black & white card. I wanted to create some contrast between the title and my black pen journaling, so I swiped across the title text with a Fossilized Amber Distress Stain. The result was an instant yellow highlight that looked like it had always been there!

The right side of the page features a lot of journaling, and the page protector is back to the "classic" Project Life page format.
Photos on this side of the page are one of the reasons I wanted to go with a light look for the journaling cards. They are dark and have some quality problems, being dark and cluttered. One was shot through a bus window, another in a dimly lit restaurant. The photo of me on stage was shot from the back of the crowd, with people partially blocking. The light journaling cards freshen and brighten the dark cluttered pictures.

Each journaling card in the center strip of cards corresponds to a different photo or photos on this side of the layout. Like on the other side of the layout, a journaling card here has subtle customization as well. The words on the journal card with the label designs are Tim Holtz rub-ons. Of course, I could also have used stamps.
