JOB DESCRIPTION

General Summary of Position

Create compelling, custom illustrations and art for Cricut , Imagine, Cuttlebug , Yudu and other Provo Craft product lines in a digital format


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Illustrate/create original artwork and supplemental artwork where assigned Illustrate and design in a wide variety of styles Create new fonts (from scratch) Formulate basic layout design and style concepts for projects assigned Conduct research for product content and style for projects assigned Complete custom cartridge features for art received from outside artists Optimize vector artwork received from in-house and outsourced artists Provide background inspiration information for cartridges Provide and receive art direction from peers and outside artists Provide insight, feedback, and new content ideas for artwork and new products Keep up-to-date on current creative trends (home décor, crafts, scrapbooking, handmade products, sewing, party décor, weddings, paper crafting, etc.) to help conceptualize new products and art Translate the artwork created into finished end-consumer projects Create end-consumer projects (paper crafting, wearables , home décor and cards) from new and existing art content Maintain an awareness of design trends, product knowledge and consumer interests Communicate effectively about new content and products Prioritize and meet deadlines Team player, able to work with a wide variety of departments

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Art 2 – 3 years experience preferred Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is required Proficiency with additional industry standard graphic software helpful Working understanding of industry-specific vocabulary and technology Working understanding of file types and exporting and importing of files Outstanding creativity and artistic skill-set Background and experience in crafting (projects (paper crafting, wearables , home décor and cards) Ability to match existing art styles to provide supplemental original art Knowledge of trends and trend forecasting helpful Strong typographical skills and layout a plus Experience managing and completing multiple projects simultaneously Proficient on Mac platform Portfolio required
