Creative Memories Announces Plans for New Company: Ahni & Zoe

Creative Memories announced today (Monday) the company’s plans for an entirely reborn and reshaped company as they hope to emerge from bankruptcy next month. The new company has a new name, and new product line. It will also effectively be starting over in building its consultant corps, hoping for its current consultant corps to recommit to the new endeavor.

“Ahni & Zoe by Creative Memories” is tentatively scheduled to open for business by previewing to consumers in late November, but the “grand opening” isn’t scheduled until January. This week, the company is making their new consultant kit available for a promotional price of $79 to the first 3500 consultants who commit to the new generation of Creative Memories.

So what exactly is Ahni & Zoe? It’s easiest to start with what it is not. It has no digital offerings like the old company, or paper and stickers. The popular tool line is gone, except for a single adhesive dispenser that dispenses small tabs and a couple of pens. The popular album coversets and refills are gone, replaced by black and “greige” strap hinge albums with various styles of protector pages (including 12×12). There’s no more blank cardstock refill pages from Ahni & Zoe – all of the new refill pages are plastic protectors.

With all that gone…what are they actually selling? The company’s new offering is based on an iPhone app called “inawink” (which they promise will also be available in a web browser version soon) that they are marketing as allowing you to “shoot.edit.organize.print” all from the same application, and which includes access to a cloud storage service. The first GB of cloud storage is free, and then you can buy 10GB for $25/year, or unlimited storage for $75/year. You can also earn free storage (up to a maximum of 4 GB) by making print plan purchases through the app.

The company’s new album program is centered around two pre-designed options. One is the familiar Fast2Fab program from the company’s previous incarnation, which is coming back under the Ahni & Zoe rebranding. For those unfamiliar with it, Fast2Fab features 12×12 strap hinge albums with predesigned pages that are complete except for adding photos onto them. Eleven different themed album designs plus pre-designed refill pages for those designs are going to be available from Ahni & Zoe.

The second options are slide-in albums which utilize 4×6 photo pockets and a system of decorative cards similar to Project Life. There are 11 different designs of 4×6 card packs available, plus the albums (the previously mentioned black and greige colors, which have slide-in pocket pages or 12×12 full pocket pages available for them).

To view all of the new Ahni & Zoe products, visit the Creative Memories website to view the pdf of the Ahni & Zoe catalog.

This new realignment will dramatically change the company’s position in the marketplace. Ahni & Zoe will have a whole new set of competitors than original Creative Memories did. Whereas their competition has traditionally been companies like Stampin’ Up!, Close To My Heart, and Memory Works, plus of course the traditional scrapbook stores, now their competition will be more companies like Shutterfly and the manufacturers who produce Project Life and its plethora of copies. Ahni & Zoe is entering these two markets as a newcomer going up against very well established dominant players, and will have a steep hill to climb making inroads against them.

All of this of course, is missing one key element – court approval. The very existence of Ahni & Zoe is predicated on bankruptcy court approval of Creative Memories’ bankruptcy plan, which has not happened yet. The company’s creditors have to vote on the plan, and then a ruling is expected at a hearing scheduled for November 7th. Approval is certainly not guaranteed for the plan, which would throw the future of the entire company in doubt.

You can find those clear pockets at Hobby Lobby. Can’t remember what they are called there.

Why can”t I get my vaults from creative memory. Do I have to buy your program in order to get my saved pictures in my vaults?

    • Lori June 21, 2014 at 10:42 pm #

Not sure what vaults you mean. (1) online at CM photo center – is gone you cannot access anything that was there or (2) vaults within Memory Manager on your computer – you can access them just go into your directories and they are listed in items. Memory manager will still work unless your computer crashed.

Nothing about this new company is enticing at all…loved the old stuff ๐Ÿ™

    • jennifer June 30, 2014 at 8:56 am #

I agree Charity CM products were so much more enticing! Ahni & Zoe are not with it!

      • June 30, 2014 at 9:49 am #

I agree Jennifer 100 percent … nothing about Ahni & Zoe interests me!

  13. Penguino July 13, 2014 at 9:54 am #

I have a digital album which I created on the “old” program. It’s saved to my hard drive. Is it still possible to have it printed out in a hard copy or is all my work now screwed????

    • Maggi July 18, 2014 at 11:24 pm #

Check out Panstoria. They created Storybook Creator for CM.

  14. Emma Glover July 15, 2014 at 10:33 pm #

Help! I canโ€™t โ€œorderโ€ the photo book I just finished creating.

  15. carole July 18, 2014 at 10:20 pm #

Absolutely not…just export as a jpeg file and print like you would a picture.

  16. Teresa July 24, 2014 at 9:44 pm #

Very disappointed over the demise of CM. I’ve used this product for many years and feel at a loss as to what I am going to do. I prefer scrapbooking and have no interest in storing my pics on the cloud. Sad day, indeed, for those of us dedicated to photo journaling the ‘old fashioned way.” Hope you will find a way to bring CM back the way it used to be!

    • anzphotomemories July 25, 2014 at 1:03 am #

Check out the Ahni and Zoe website. They currently have a CM Outlet with products up to 85% off. The materials are in “raw” form, so the coversets must be manufactured. They are taking about 30 days from the time of order.

    • Maxine Drapo August 12, 2014 at 3:41 pm #

I’m also very upset and unhappy CM has allowed this to happen! This new company has NO products that interest me at all. I have several albums started and had no idea CM was in trouble… I feel so betrayed by this

      • jennifer August 12, 2014 at 5:05 pm #

Amen!!!!! I agree CM has turned us all away & took our projects with them!!!

      • Joann August 19, 2014 at 5:08 pm #

Hi ladies, I was looking at this forum after I heard today that CM no longer exisits. Which for all users I am sorry. I am a L’BRI Skin Care Consultant and I wouild be so terribly hurt if that would ever happen. I feel so secure with my company , we talk directly to the owners at events. They are so like you and I. I know many ladies who have enjoyed CM so I feel sad for all.

    • Sue November 4, 2015 at 9:43 am #

I’m with you Teresa, and with all of you that have expressed your feelings about CM products and the whole concept of CM including the products and the social outlet of crops; sharing stories and ideas with a group of new friends.
I also am at a loss as to how to continue with projects I started many years ago. When we moved all of my scrapping supplies got packed up and I haven’t got the room to get it all out again. Today I looked up CM in hopes of finding a consultant in my area that had products and crops…I wish I had known that this was happening…not that I could have done anything to change the new path.

  17. Rebecca Wall July 25, 2014 at 11:04 am #

I have used Creative Memories for many years and found it my favorite program for storing my pictures. I now have windows 8. Is there a program for windows 8, that I can update to?

    • Nancy Nally July 25, 2014 at 11:16 am #

If you are just looking for something that will organize and help you print your photos (with the bonus of being the best photo editor on the market – it will make your photos look amazing), I highly recommend using Adobe’s Lightroom. You can buy it as standalone software for about $100, or as part of a $9.99/month subscription package from Adobe that includes – I’m not kidding – the FULL version of Photoshop as well which usually retails for about $1000.

I recently subscribed to the Adobe Photographer Package, the $9.99/mo subscription that includes Lightroom and Photoshop. It totally changed the way I deal with my photos, even though I already had the desktop version of Lightroom.

      • anzphotomemories July 25, 2014 at 8:27 pm #

Ahni and Zoe now has a photo print service as an interim to their future inawink app that will work on the iPhone.

    • anzphotomemories July 25, 2014 at 10:07 pm #

Rebecca, See the comments above regarding Storybook Creator. You can just save your photos and print the jpegs with any photo company (drug store, Costco, Ahni & Zoe). However, if you want to create new pages, you will need to use Panstoria or try using the new photo printer option on the Ahni & Zoe webpage. Send me a PM if you need more details.

  18. Nancy McVey July 28, 2014 at 4:15 pm #

I need the plastic strip to keep the pages together for a 7×7 scrapbook. Any ideas where I could find one?

  19. Cindy Hamacher August 6, 2014 at 10:16 pm #

Iam very upset over the fact that I will not be able to purchase page protectors and photo splits for my creative memory albums. I have a lot of money invested in this product and understood that I would be able to add to my albums. Now that no longer seems to be true.

    • Maggi August 6, 2014 at 10:48 pm #

Oh I think you will be able to get page protectors and photo tape runners with the new company from what the new owner says. I would not despair.

    • Laura Jinkins August 6, 2014 at 10:57 pm #

Not to worry! Like you, I was concerned about how to finish my incomplete albums. Only a couple of days ago, I watched a YouTube video by Rhonda Anderson describing the new product line being introduced at Heritage Makers. All of the cover sets, refill pages, etc. are compatible with our old Creative Memories products.

    • Laura Jinkins August 6, 2014 at 10:59 pm #

And I do not know why that video is the one that showed up, since I copied the link from the Rhonda Anderson bit from the Youngevity convention. Click on the “Playlist” in the upper lefthand corner and scroll down until you see “Our Memories For Life – New Products” by HeritageMakers. That’s Rhonda presenting the “new” but compatible products that will help us finish our albums and create new ones, too. ๐Ÿ˜€

I have these items if you are interested

  20. Bobbi Emmons August 7, 2014 at 8:24 pm #

Sad at demise of Creative Memories. i have been able to find some tools (I needed those 3 round red, blue, & green cutters for the round & oval templates), and packs of paper on Etsy and Ebay. Sorry, not at all interested in Ahni & Zoe as marketed thusfar. Will check periodically to see if their offerings improve. Wish they would focus on continuing Creative Memories products. Obviously there is still a market for them. Nevertheless, good luck Ahni & Zoe.

    • jennifer August 8, 2014 at 8:17 am #

My sentiments Bobbi, I really miss CM! Ahni & Zoe are just not with it! But us die hard scrappers will survive somehow!

  21. Mary August 12, 2014 at 5:15 pm #

My old CMC told me Ahni & Zoe has already been sold, does that mean it has already folded?

    • Nancy Nally August 12, 2014 at 5:29 pm #

Creative Memories as an entity – and thus Ahni & Zoe – has been shut down and is being sold by the bankruptcy court trustee in pieces:

      • Kathi June 29, 2016 at 1:02 pm #

At one time I stored pics in their software–how do I get access to those and projects again?
        Thank You

        • June 29, 2016 at 1:12 pm #

You can’t access them any longer. Emails were sent out to users prior to the software being shut down telling people to get their projects before it was shut down.

          • jennifer June 29, 2016 at 4:31 pm #

CM never sent anything out that we could retrieve our projects, At least I never got it! All they told me was to bad all projects with CM are LOST! SO SAD And I had a lot of CM projects, LOST & GOne forever. BUt so far Forever is SUPER!!!!

          • June 29, 2016 at 4:35 pm #

If you stored photos in the photo center, lots of emails were sent out. I got tired of seeing them. If you used Storybook Creator the projects you uploaded are still on your computer in the software you used to design them in. You can use your Storybook software with I believe Forever. It just needs to be upgraded. Once you login it will prompt you and tell you.

          • jennifer June 29, 2016 at 4:40 pm #

Thanks I still have my storybook creator, mayby I will try to retrieve them? Because I am using artisan 4 now.

          • June 29, 2016 at 4:43 pm #

Yes your SBC projects will work in Artisan

        • Nancy Nally June 29, 2016 at 2:16 pm #

Kathi, I consulted with my friend Adriano Mederos who was/is a high level consultant at both CM and now at Forever to make sure I got good info for you since I’m not really familiar with the workings of the software itself. If you are talking about your Memory Manager vault…that software is now owned by Forever and sold under the name Historian. You’ll need to buy the new Forever version of the software and point the new software to your old memory manager vault. (If your vault is on a different machine, it takes a few more steps than that.) Good news is that Historian is on sale through tomorrow – use code LastMinute to get 30% off. You can list an ambassador at checkout if you’d like. Pixels2Pages has a great education program about the software if you need help.

          • Nancy Nally June 29, 2016 at 2:21 pm #

Also, importing your vault won’t work in Historian’s trial version, only the paid version. So don’t think you have lost your pictures if you try that and it doesn’t work! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m having a problem ,I’m just finishing my granddaughters scrapbook and i don’t think my straps are going to be big enough to put back together. Is there larger straps i can use? I promised my granddaughter i was going to have it done by Dec. for her birthday.I need help plzz.

    • MaryHansen August 14, 2014 at 9:49 pm #

My technique is to use 2 or more books.

    • anzphotomemories August 26, 2014 at 10:48 pm #

Adelina, CM/AZ albums can take up to 3 sets of pages(48 pages), otherwise, the photos are too heavy for the album. Good luck with your album.

Cm and A&Z have been sold to a Canadian gentleman in Hong Kong. I have read about his plans for the company and I think it will be back better than ever. I am very optimistic to hear the final plans!

    • jennifer August 21, 2014 at 5:15 pm #

HELP! CM needs help & I am not sure a canadian in Hong Kong is the the answer, But time will tell…..!!!!

      • Maggi August 21, 2014 at 7:49 pm #

He lost his wife awhile back due to a tragic auto accident and realizes the importance of recording our family and personal histories. He also was a facilitator for CM arranging for the best possible manufacturer of some of CM’s tools. So he has some background in the old CM. He is very dedicated to the company and is a good businessman. Expect good things.

        • jennifer August 21, 2014 at 8:17 pm #

praying for him….and sorry to hear about his wife…just hope we can get something good going like CM!

      • Martha September 20, 2014 at 9:04 pm #

I had heard about the closing of CM. I am sorry about the way it ended. I am really hoping that the Canadian gentleman in Hong Kong (really) will be able to come up with something new and exciting for all of us scrapbookers that like to set up a scrapbook the old way. Does any one know when this will happen???

  24. Mikki August 27, 2014 at 5:21 am #

Hi I am from the U.K. and am finding it very difficult to find pages and especially page protectors that fit the old style CM albums. I had no idea what happened to CM and reading your messages has been very useful. Hobby lobby don’t appear to ship to the U.K.! My mum and I are having a scrapbooking day today and I will pass on all this information. I am very sad that we can’t complete albums. Fingers crossed for the Canadian guy in Hong Kong!

Any ideas where I might find a 12×12 scrapbook album with paper pages not plastic, with cheetah print cover? I want to do my daughter’s high school graduation and want to include the cards she rec’d that they can be read without taking them out of a plastic sleeve. Thanks

  29. Melinda October 23, 2014 at 3:11 pm #

I have a lot of old Creative Memories stuff in my garage from being a consultant many moons ago that I would really like to get rid of. Was doing some searching to figure out how to get rid of it all when I found this article about them going out of business. I just want to get back what I paid for them and maybe help some people out that are looking for products. I really don’t want to bother with listing each thing individually on eBay. Does anyone know of a good forum for this? I heard about a facebook group but can’t seem to find it as there are soooo many.

I have stickers, tools, books, pages, organization stuff, etc.

    • Amy Barr October 26, 2014 at 1:56 pm #

Melinda. Can you post an email and we could email you if we are interested in buying pages and albums. Would love some

      • jennifer October 26, 2014 at 3:04 pm #

Yes let us know I love CM products & ebay is ripping people off, Let us know your email & I will buy some CM stuff

        Sure –

    • carole October 26, 2014 at 7:14 pm #

Do you have any bags? Looking for wheeled bag and the one that sits on top.

      • Melinda October 27, 2014 at 6:50 pm #

Carole – I do have one bag, I think it is an album tote. It would fit on top of the wheeled bag (I believe), but it doesn’t have lots of little compartments, just bigger ones for albums or paper and such.

        • carole October 27, 2014 at 9:16 pm #

Thank you for such a quick response Melinda. I already have the bag to which you are referring. I will keep looking.

          • anzphotomemories October 27, 2014 at 10:44 pm #

Carole, I saw the cart on wheels tote on the Creative Memories to AZ FB group from Oct 22. Happy Hunting!

    • Terry October 27, 2014 at 12:15 pm #

Melinda do you by chance have any Border Maker Cartridges? I just received a Border Maker as a gift right after they had closed. And as I have stated before only place to find them is on EBay and they want $40 and up for an item that was below $20.

      • Lori Kutsch October 27, 2014 at 12:21 pm #

Terry, you can get Border maker cartridges from Our Memories for Life. They are a different color but they work in our CM systems. If you need help email me and I can get them for you.

      • Melinda October 27, 2014 at 6:39 pm #

Terry – I am sorry, I don’t have any of the border maker stuff or I would be happy to help. I was a consultant a very long time ago and am trying to clean out my craft room finally!

    • Melinda October 27, 2014 at 6:54 pm #

I did end up finding a Facebook group that seems to be people who are selling stuff for a more reasonable price – it is “Creative Memories to A&Z”. There are over 700 members, so it may be a good resource for many who are looking for their favorite things that they can’t get any more. I have posted my stuff there as well. Keep scraping!

      • anzphotomemories October 27, 2014 at 9:28 pm #

First, I would try “CM Going Going Gone” group on FB to search for old CM products. That’s where previous consultants are selling all their products.

Second, we are having a Grand Opening of CM Group, include sales of Creative Memories and Ahni and Zoe products. We will be open starting the beginning of November. At this time, I know that we will have four book cloth albums; 4 paper sets; refill pages; 14 Fast2Fab albums with pre-designed pages in both 12×12 & 8×8 sizes.

Please email for additional information at
        Janet Ramos

Do you have 12 X 12 page protectors for the old albums?

      • Melinda December 29, 2014 at 12:01 pm #

Sorry – they are all gone. I mostly have kits (baby, wedding, snap packs), stickers, organizational supplies, pens, and cutting tools (not border cartridges though).

    • Janet Anderson - OH April 26, 2015 at 7:36 pm #

Melinda, I am looking for 5 or 6 (?) Border Basic Scroll Corner Scrapbook Pages that fit the 12 x 12 books. I have only one and am trying to put family history together – there’s 6 children, so I lack 5 pages. It is basically white with scroll affect in black print. If you have any of that kind I’d appreciate hearing from you. Am just now learning that CM has folded their business. I didn’t find that info yesterday when I was looking for them. Thanks for whatever you may be able to do. Janet Anderson

Janet – I don’t think I have those, you could email me a picture perhaps or check with others on the Facebook sites.

I am hoping we will be able to buy the old Creative Memory brand scrapbooking albums, pages [12×12], and page protectors. So unfair we can’t at least finish our albums we started. People on EBay and Amazon are ripping off customers selling this stuff. It’s appalling! I have been trying to network with fair minded people to buy piece meal what I need but it is very tedious. Creative Memories was a quality brand and I miss it.

On one of the Facebook CM blogs someone said that the new CM 12×12 page protectors have to have about 1/4 inch cut off of them to fit the true 12×12 pages which to me would not be worth it as I think they would eventually tear because they are heat sealed. Just a thought for you. Some old consultants are selling the old CM products, just do a search on Google for various consultants. A lot are selling them at consultant costs 30% off which is a good deal. Hope this helps.

I have tons of Creative Memory stamps and old ink pads that I used with my daughter, over 10 years ago. Now with granddaughters, I would like to use them again, but can’t find refill ink for the ink pads. I don’t need the colors to match exactly, and did see some offered on Stampin’ Up, but thought I’d contact you first. I really can’t afford to replace all the ink pads again. Are there any replacement color bottles available? Thank you! ~ K. Madden (Please do not add me to any mailing list. Thanks! )

Hi, I am noticing that the straps on my creative memories albums are getting spots. I read up on it and it is because they were made from PVC and possibly contain chlorine and they are breaking down. It can effect your photos eventually. Where can I get photo safe replacement straps for my flex strap albums?

Kelly, our family has a stationery store and we sell the ink for the stamp pads in different colors located at 144 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA 570-326-2676, toll free 877-620-0995, fax 570-326-1393. You can call them and they can give you a price and they do ship also. We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00-5:00 p.m. I don’t know the price of the ink so you would have to call them. Hope this helps you.

After spending tons of money on CM, I would never do business with them again. I hope their ‘new’ company tanks!

I started with Creative Memories in the mid 90’s. Back then then CM was against top loading pages, anything lumpy, now anything goes as long as they are selling it which makes everything they said before false. That’s what turned me off to them. Now the stuff they sell isn’t much different than what you can buy from the lss which is where I will be spending my money instead of with all the new CM spinoffs.
