And now onto my 2nd segment from season three of Scrapbook Soup, episode #302! To see this segment, you’ll have to tune in to your local PBS station or catch it on the Scrapbook Soup website.
Many thanks to Lawn Fawn for sponsoring this segment! Their fabulous products are perfect for cardmaking!
This segment was all about translating layout design to card design. A lot of us who scrapbook, myself included, often times feel like we can’t design cards because the space is so different on a card from our usual design canvas. My Scrapbook Soup segment showed how to take the design of a layout that you liked, and translate it into a card design!
In my segment I translated two layouts into cards. The first layout celebrated my daughter’s 10th birthday in May. (I can’t believe we’re into double digits!)
I used Lawn Fawn’s coordinating paper collection called Pink Lemonade to create a block of patterned paper strips. That is so easy to do when you work with pre-coordinated product! Two of the strips I used white paper for, and turned them into text elements.
If you are wondering what the pop dots on the supply list were used for, they were used to raise the flower sticker high enough to not be swallowed by the chipboard number “0”.
