Scrapbook Soup | Instagram Projects, Part 1 [Giveaway]

Today, in part one of this week's series on my Scrapbook Soup projects for season 3, I'm going to share a close-up look at my Project Life layout from episode #9, about using Instagram photos, along with some thoughts about it that are not in the segment. (Bonus content!)

You probably recognize the location - it's Disneyland! During my trip to the Craft & Hobby Association show in January, I actually stayed at Disney's Paradise Pier hotel, right next door to Downtown Disney, so I got to experience a lot of Disney when I wasn't at the convention center. The layout is dated with the day that I spent most of at Disneyland, but a few of the pictures of the hotel and Downtown Disney were actually taken on other days.

Disney is such a unreal world anyway - it's the perfect place to use Instagram and turn your photos into surreal, filtered dreamscapes. You can also use Instagram to improve a photo of something special that was taken under bad lighting conditions. I did this with my night time and indoor shots. It gives a poor shot an "I meant to do that" appearance.

Supplies:

Project Life Core Kit (Honey by Lori Whitlock)

Project Life Page Protectors (Design A & Design I)

Project Life 4x6 Grid Journaling Cards

Sakura Pigma Micron 03 pen (black)

My Mind’s Eye “Happy Day” Six by Six paper pad

Glitz Design Washi Tape - “Color Me Happy” Rainbow Stripe

Lawn Fawn “Say Cheese” stamp set

Ranger Adirondack Ink in Pitch Black

Heidi Swapp Color Magic Chipboard (Hearts)

Close To My Heart pigment ink (Buttercup)

One of my favorite quick Project Life techniques is to make a decorative journaling card by putting washi tape along the edge of a plain Project Life journaling card, or patterned paper cut from a 6x6 paper pad.
