It's Scrapbook Soup Week!

This week on Scrapbook Update, we are going to celebrate the start of the new season of the PBS series Scrapbook Soup, which will be coming this month to PBS stations across the country!

This season, for the second time, I was honored to contribute to Scrapbook Soup. I took part in two different segments that you'll see on the upcoming 3rd season.

Visiting the KS Productions studios outside Cleveland, Ohio is always a lot of fun - it's a chance to see industry friends, and get a sneak peek at what they are doing on the show for the new season. Lots of laughs are had - along with some more serious talk too.

I shared my scheduled taping day with this lovely group of ladies - Ronda Palazzari, Ali Edwards, Kelly Purkey, and Kim Hupke from Spellbinders.

In addition to visiting with old friends I got to make new ones too. Joe Rotella was also there, prepping at the table next to mine, which meant I got to get acquainted with the awesome Joe Morgan for the first time while Joe R did his taping.

Early in the day, before the hair started to wilt:

Much interesting conversation was had while we all prepped and waited our turn!

In a break during taping, we all got to visit for a bit with Julie and talk shop:

The frantic prep and pressure of taping is exhausting...by lunchtime we were all a bit punchy.

Since most of us arrive by air for the tapings, part of the challenge of prepping segments is to transform all the stuff that we have packed protected within an inch of its life into nice organized piles to go into the studio on our segment prep trays.

In the studio is just as busy as the team works to get the segments in on the right pace, and to accommodate the unique set-up needs of each contributor:

Then before you know it, you are back on your way home! I scored some yogurt as a treat in the Charlotte airport when I made my connection - it's healthy if it has fruit on it, right?

Arriving and departing from Charlotte got a little complicated because the President decided to stalk me on my visit to Charlotte. When my flight arrived, we had to hold on the taxiway before proceeding to the gate so that Air Force One could land. Then when I boarded my connection a couple hours later, we had to hold at the gate while we watched Air Force One take off again. Now that I've seen what kind of red carpet treatment the president gets at the airport, it almost makes me want to run! Do you think they make him go through the "body scanner" and take his shoes off?

Just to add to the fun, Tropical Storm Andrea arrived in Jacksonville at the same time I did. After living through so many on the ground, it was interesting to see a tropical storm from the clouds but I did learn that I will never be a hurricane hunter because it was not a fun landing!

Once I was safely home, then the real work started - cleaning up the mess I'd made of my studio preparing for the show!

Here's a sneak peek at one from episode #9, via YouTube! The segment is all about working with your Instagram photos, and features a Project Life layout and two other layouts.
