Lisa Bearnson, Project Life Make Huge Debut on HSN

Lisa Bearnson made a spectacular return to the world of televised shopping on Monday, March 25th by presenting the debut of Becky Higgins' Project Life product line on HSN network.

Bearnson had been absent from TV sales since leaving QVC four years ago after hosting its "Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking" show for 11 years.

Among the range of products that Bearnson presented in her HSN debut, by far the most notable was the TV debut of Project Life, which was the Today's Special. The exclusive HSN kit assembled for the Today's Special included an album, a core kit, 60 pocket pages, and designer dividers. The kit was available in two versions: Blush, (pictured below, top) and Jade (pictured below, bottom).

The MSRP for the full content of the kit is $87.96. HSN's regular price on these kits is being advertised at $59.99 (a few of the kits are still available at that price), and the Today's Special price on the Blush and Jade kits was $49.99.

In addition to the kit, several Project Life add-ons were offered for sale as well. These included a Project Life pen kit, envelope page kit, and cardstock kits that coordinated with the Blush and Jade kits. Virtually all of the items sold out. According to Becky Higgins' blog entry about the event, HSN moved a few hundred short of 25,000 of the Today's Special kits on Monday. That number sounds impressive enough by itself, but when you do the math, it sounds even more impressive: At the Today's Special price, that's $1.25 million in Project Life product sold in a single day through a single venue - not including the add-ons that were also offered and sold out!

Some of the offerings' popularity can be attributed to pent up demand for the new Project Life kits. The Blush kit, designed by American Crafts' in-house designers, and Jade kit, designed by Lilli Niclass, were shown at CHA in January but won't be shipping to stores until May. For consumers eager to get their hands on the new release, the HSN deal was hard to pass up.
