Today we have designer Carrie Walz joining us! Her exuberant card shows us a great example of letting pattern be the focus of your card’s design.
Carrie made the pattern the focus of this design in two ways. First, she picked something bold to work with. The black and white polka dot is a bold graphic, and the high contrast color scheme draws even more attention to it.
Second, by repeating the same pattern in several design elements – the paper, and the ribbon – Carrie placed more focus on it and made the design more cohesive. The inclusion of several circular elements like the stick pins and bling also echoed the polka dots and emphasized the design theme.
