Happy Birthday With Love

Evgenia1

It’s Evgenia, back with more of Card Annex’s feature week of My Mind’s Eye! This card is from My Mind’s Eye’s new “Collectable” collection.

When I work with bright papers I prefer to focus on using not more then 3 main colors. It is always much easier to work with one collection, where the designers do all the hard work for you and the papers match perfectly.

Don’t forget about playing with your sewing machine, with using colorful threads you can add more fun to your project!

By using dies like this butterfly,  you can make your card more dimensional and appealing. Felt is a great way to add texture to a die.

Have Bots of Fun

IMG_5337BotsofFun

Today, our My Mind’s Eye feature week brings us a card by designer Corri Garza that is “bots” of fun! It’s from the new collection “Boy Crazy” by My Mind’s Eye, the companion collection to the “My Girl” collection that we’ve been featuring the past few days.

A clean and simple style is perfect when designing for boys! On this color blocked design, the patterns do a lot of the work of creating movement. The diagonal stripes move the eye through the card from the sentiment to the robot. The offset blocks underneath the robot highlight the movement of the sticker.

Supplies | Patterned Paper: My Mind’s Eye “Boy Crazy” (Word Play, Imagine). Stickers: My Mind’s Eye (Boy Crazy Layered Stickers). Stamps: Scrappy Moms. Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Distress (Broken China, Weathered Wood). Baker’s Twine: The Twinery.

Designer: Corri Garza

Corri began paper crafting in 2009 when she purchased a Cricut at a Black Friday sale. She started following some blogs and immediately fell in love with card making. Recently, she added a Silhouette Cameo to her craft room and she loves working with die cuts to create cards, gift boxes and altered items. Corri lives just outside San Antonio, Texas with her husband and three kids. When she’s not in her craft room, she is watching her twins playing sports. They are involved in volleyball, baseball and softball, so there is always a game to watch!  Corri also enjoys photography, especially taking nature photos.
