Sometimes you can take your design inspiration from your sentiment stamp. Designer Sharon Callis’s sentiment stamp for this card provided not only an obvious theme but also a style as well for the card.

The vintage look of the sentiment set the tone for the materials, and then Sharon carried the theme through with basic elements that create a unified look: the paper with stitching on it, machine stitching, and buttons. It only took a few elements to establish the theme, and the card maintains a simple elegance.

Supplies | Card Blank: docrafts (6×6). Patterned Paper: DCWV (Home Spun Stack). Punch: EK Success (Round Flower Layering). Adhesive: Xyron (150 X). Stamp: Cardmaking & Papercraft (Sew Pretty). Buttons: unknown. Thread: Gutterman (green, brown).

Sharon Callis lives in Ireland and has been a crafter for over twenty years.  In 2011, Sharon was named ‘Cardmaker of the Year’ by Cardmaking and Papercraft/ Quick Cards made Easy’ Magazines in the UK. Sharon’s work has been featured in publications such as Creative Cardmaking, Papercraft Essential, Create and Craft TV, Cardmaking and Papercraft as well as on various craft companies Facebook pages and blogs.
