A Cute I Love You!

I Love You

This card proves that a message of “I love you” doesn’t have to be all soft pinks and pretty flowers!

It’s easy to forget that stamping on patterned paper is an option for our cards. Designer Annette Allen took a sentiment stamp with lots of open area in the font and used it to easily create a custom embellishment for her card by stamping on patterned paper and then cutting it out.

I love you

Paired with more patterned paper – this time in die cuts – and a few other colorful embellishments, this card provides lots of colorful fun that makes its sentiment cheery and light, instead of overly serious. The stitched border around the white panel “anchors” it to the background, and the diagonally striped paper used underneath it and just barely sticking out creates a flow that moves around the outside edge of the card.

Happy Birthday!

card-annex-01-16

Designer Susie Moore is Card Annex’s resident digital stamp aficionado, and today she has made a happy and fun birthday card with one from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

The graphic block along with the two patterned paper areas create a very nice color blocked effect, and the rhinestones add some real sparkle to the colored stars. The round buttons create a visual triangle with the third round object on the card – the balloon – and add some curves to a card whose basic lines are all straight lines, softening them.

This shade of green was extremely prevalent in the new product lines at the CHA Winter 2013 show…I think we’ll be seeing a lot of it in 2013!

Supplies | Papers: Creative Memories. Cardstock: Papertrey Ink. Markers: Copic. Image: Bugaboo Digi Stamps (Make It Snappy -Happy Birthday). Buttons: Papertrey Ink. Misc: Ranger (Glossy Accents) and rhinestones (unknown).

Designer: Susie Moore

CHA Winter 2013 | Heidi Swapp

Heidi Swapp’s section of the Pink Paislee booth at CHA Winter 2013 was buzzing with activity and popping with color.

Color Pop is Heidi’s latest addition to her Color Magic resist papers and Memory File products. Brightly hued sections that resist inks alternate with white sections that absorb inks, for a whole new level of vibrance and color combination possibilities.
