Pinterest Inspiration | Mid-Century Modern Chair

Pinterest has been full of inspiration lately but most of the pins have been holiday-related. While looking through it recently, though, I was thrilled to see this chair. It just felt like a nice change after all of the holiday-themed pins I had gone through. So I absolutely had to use it as the inspiration for a layout.

The chair is a Mid-Century Modern Eggchair from Room Service. What I love the most is the bright yellow as contrasted with the graphic black-and-white pillows. The pillows make the chair pop even more and it's a cheery and bright yet sophisticated combination. I also really loved the circular mirrors on the wall as contrasted with the soft curves of the chair and the harsh lines of the graphic pillows.

All supplies from Designer Digitals | Cardstock: All White Now Paper Pack (distressed white cardstock) by Lynn Grieveson. Patterned Paper: Finer Things No. 01 Paper Pack: Black (black paper) by Maplebrook Studios. Graphed Notebook December Paper Pack (yellow graph paper) by Katie Pertiet. Stamped Blocks: Patterned Shapes: Blocks No. 01 Brushes and Stamps by Katie Pertiet. Embellishments: Jessie Kit (heart), Wailua Kit (text tag) and Riley Kit (banner) by Lynn Grieveson. Readymade Circles: Teen No. 01 (circle embellishment) by Studio DoubleD.

I used a piece of distressed white cardstock as the base for my layout and layered a graphic black-and-white patterned paper over that. I then layered a bright piece of yellow graph paper over that as the base for my photos. I decided to add some blue embellishments to the layout after it felt a bit too stark. The blue warms it up just enough and softens the feel of the black patterned paper. Adding a circular embellishment, as well as a tiny banner and the heart also brings some more softness and introduces curves into the design to mimic the curves and circles found in the inspiration photo.

I love spending time on Pinterest and I always find something to inspire me. I hope that you are inspired by this design as I was. Let me know where you find inspiration and maybe I’ll use it in a future column. You can also follow my Pinterest boards here.
