Gallery Highlights | 12.20.2012

Welcome to Gallery Highlights for this week! This week’s finds include a bunch of eclectic designs and styles – I love weeks like this when the galleries are just packed full of wonderful layouts! Let’s go take a look at them and I hope you like them all as much as I do. Don’t forget – you can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Single Mama Status by Nzingha

The off-center photo drew me into Ann’s layout right away but there are so many details in this layout that I love. She used a neutral chevron-patterned paper as the base for her layout and the subtle pattern is such a nice change from plain cardstock. She used very soft colors in the small pieces of patterned paper she used as accents and I love the way her journaling flows directly under her photos and her title under that. The stitching is the perfect final touch.

Yum by jennv

I love the plaid paper Jenn used in the background of her layout, as well as the shaped and scalloped edges of the gingham paper. I also really like how she used frames as an accent and didn’t actually frame her photos – great idea! And the spatula tied up with baker’s twine really completes this layout.

December Daily-ish Cover by Nora Griffin

I have been a fan of Nora’s work for years and years and I absolutely love the cover of her “December Daily-ish” album. She cut out a bracketed shape in the cover and allowed a punched tree and numbers to show through with contrasting patterned paper on both layers. It is perfect in its simplicity.

December to Remember Album Cover by TamiG

Tami’s December album cover is simply stunning! She used a chevron album and then painted the entire thing a light blue. She used a doily as the base for her cover design and added stickers on top of a manila tag that she then sewed together and layered over the doily. She added an aqua tab, some ribbon, label words and a chipboard tree for her final touches.

December 15 by Katie Pertiet

Oh my goodness, isn’t Katie’s December Daily page just adorable? I love that she took her puppy to see Santa and I love the expression on Dixie’s face! Katie framed the photo and added it to a collage made up of contrasting red and aqua papers and embellishments. I also love the blended text brushes around the edges of the collage.

Christmas Train byNikkiARNGwife

Nikki’s layout is just darling! And there are so many details! She used layer after layer of patterned paper, along with multi-colored brads, doilies, cookie shapes, ribbon and so much more. Adorable layout!

And there you have them – our gallery highlights! I love all of these and I really do wish we had time and space to feature more of the amazing designs out there.  Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work with us this week. What were your favorite gallery layouts last week? Feel free to link us to them in the comments and let us know what you think and which are your current favorites in the galleries!

Hi guys, Please consider making your posts available in full in Google and other readers. I miss most of your posts because I rarely click through to read beyond the first few sentences. I know you are trying to track readership and generate visits to improve your site stats, but perhaps I’d click through more if I could see the whole post and that made me want to leave a comment, pin something, etc… Just my 2 cents.

I’m sorry you are unhappy with our decision to use a partial feed on our company’s websites. Please understand that we did not make the decision to use partial feeds lightly. When websites provide a full content feed, there is little reason for readers to visit the website, which is how businesses like ours make a living. If you’d like a full-content feed of Scrapbook Update, there is one available by subscription on the Amazon Kindle.

For me, it is always worth clicking on the email and reading through the posts. I almost always find something I would like to scraplift or products that I want. Thanks for a fun “romp” in the scrapbook world!
