Jillibean Soup announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Hampton Art for distribution, marketing and manufacturing of its products.

Jill Yegerlehner will maintain ownership and creative control of Jillibean Soup, which she founded in 2008. The company is known for its “soup” named lines, cute styling, and products that are very card making friendly.

Hampton Art will take over manufacturing and marketing for Jillibean’s product lines, and distribute them out of its Washington, NC location. Jillibean will continue to have their own CHA booth, design team and blog.

The new arrangement will go into effect on December 15th, 2012.

According to the announcement, one of the benefits of the new arrangement for Jillibean will be the ability for them to offer new product options using Hampton Art’s resources.

“Jillibean Soup is a great brand, and Jill is very talented and extremely creative – full of new ideas and product concepts. We are eager to join forces with Jill and her team in introducing and supplying new and exciting Jillibean products to the marketplace for our crafters to enjoy,” says Ed Bolen, VP/General Manager of Hampton Art.

Logistical partnerships like this are becoming increasingly common in the scrapbook industry, allowing small boutique companies to maintain their brand identity and independent ownership, while gaining the economies of scale and resources of a larger organization. The right match can benefit both companies by cutting costs in various ways.
