Weekend Reading | 10.19.2012

Looking for some creative inspiration or edutainment reading for the weekend? Check these great links out!

Have you got too many 3×4 Project Life journaling cards that you don’t know what to do with? With the growing number of these cards available, it’s easy to collect too many of them. Tammy Dailor at Your Memory Connection has a great post on using up those journaling cards by using them on traditional layouts  and scrapbooking projects!

If you are like me and have a hard drive full of photos that are almost fabulous – except for the drab washed out sky – then you’ll love this tutorial from The Daily Digi. In her post, Steph shows step-by-step how to take that drab gray sky and turn it a beautiful natural looking blue gradient. The instructions work for both Photoshop CS and Photoshop Elements.

“Mommy, where do baby Distress Stains come from?” Ranger is very proud of their products being made in the USA, and this week on their blog, they showed off a photo tour of the process of making a batch of Metallic Distress Stains. It’s a surprisingly complex process!

Hero Arts has been focusing this month on holiday cardmaking, and today they featured a great Christmas card made with a stamping/masking technique that gives new versatility to background stamps. It also makes beautiful use of stamping on patterned paper. The result is a pretty and sparkly card made from just a few patterned scraps and some stamps!

  5. Thanks for the link Nancy! I love these posts. I just checked out Steph’s article and wish I had known this when I lived in Nashville. I had tons of grey sky photos. Not so much a problem now that I’m back in the sunshine state though! :D
