Pink and gray has always been a favorite color combination of mine. Throw in some very trendy yellow and gray, and you’ve got a very hip looking card just to say “hello”! (If you follow Card Annex on Facebook, you got a sneak peek of this card over the weekend while it was under construction, so make sure you follow us there!)
Sometimes using an exciting technique can take what is otherwise a very simple card and take it to the next level. I love this stencil from the Martha Stewart line with Plaid. Using it with another one of my favorites from Martha’s Plaid line – Pearl paint – on the gray patterned paper created an iridescent tone on tone effect that is eye-catching. I’m a big fan of the (fairly) new Martha Steward Crafts line for Plaid! The designs and colors are gorgeous and the materials are easy to work with. Despite all of the detail in this stencil, I was able to get a perfect impression with my paint on the first try – and I am not skilled at stenciling. The adhesive makes it virtually impossible to get paint under the edges of the stencil. I recommend using make-up sponges to apply the paint, and using so little paint that the sponge is almost dry.
