Today I’m bringing you a holiday card of my own design that uses something that it seems like I have been using more of lately – rub-ons!
Usually I use rub-ons as a layering element and not a feature element, so using the tree border like this is unusual for me. But this Fancy Pants element coordinates perfectly with this Graphic45 paper collection, so it works beautifully. I love that this Ali Edwards sentiment stamp is square. Since sentiments are text, it seems like most designs are rectangles, making for limited and repetitive design options. Having a square to work with opens up so many new options! This very rustic country styled scene was created using mostly vintage styled products. The key was the wood star buttons and the tree border sticker, and they way they were assembled into the scene. That combination created the country aesthetic (not usually my style but something from my childhood that I get nostalgic for at Christmas sometimes) which then shifted the vintage papers to more of a country feel visually. It’s difficult to match this much pattern. I don’t usually do it, but using paper that was visually only a single color made it easier.
