Welcome to Gallery Highlights for this week!
This week’s finds include some gorgeous layouts that are sure to inspire you. I found some fantastic fun and bright designs this week as well as some softer, sophisticated styles and I hope you like them all as much as I do. Let’s go take a look! Don’t forget – You can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.
Loving Life by smbradford
Look at how cool this first design is! Monica used twine in the colors of the rainbow back and forth across her page as the background of her layout. She stapled the twine at the edges and then used dimensional adhesive to pop the photos off the page. It created such a fun, active layout. I love this idea!
At the Zoo by Nancy Beck
Nancy’s layout incorporates a wonderful technique for themed layouts. She used a digital stamp behind her photos but also included animal stickers at the bottom of the photo collage. We all have fun stickers we love to use and by incorporating them with her photos, it helps bring focus to the photos – not draw the focus away from the photos as some themed elements are likely to do. It’s a great technique and one I’m going to use for sure!
Remember Maine by melanie louette
Melanie’s layout is perfection in its simplicity. She placed an enlarged photo at the top of an 8.5 x 11 layout and then embellished the layout very simply – a tag, a sticker, a title and journaling. Anything else would have overwhelmed it and this is the perfect way to highlight such a special photo.
Free to Fly by midwestgirl60
I love the colors in Sue’s layout. She started with white cardstock and then layered bright patterned paper over that. She then added photo strips of butterfly photos, and the combination of colors and patterns really makes the photos pop. She kept her accents in the same color family as the patterned paper and the effect is bright, colorful, and gorgeous.
Top Ten by AJ-M
This next layout is just so fun! I love the bright yellow papers mimicking a sunburst as the background. On top of that, the designer added matted photos, flowers, patterned paper, and so many fun embellishments. You can just feel the summertime fun bursting off the page.
Charleston, S.C. album by Anke
These last two layouts are two pages of a travel album that Anke is working on. She is scrapping photos of a trip to Charleston, South Carolina and she has chosen a beautiful multi-photo template for the album. Her color choices are soft and muted and pull in hues from the photos. She’s also used consistent white borders around her photos and that makes each photo easier to focus on. It’s a beautiful album and I can’t wait to see more of it.
And there you have them – our gallery highlights for the week! As I say every week, I really wish we had time and space to feature more of the amazing designs out there.
