It’s a Party card by Anski
I am a total fan of navy and tan, and this card combines those colors to perfection. Anski did a beautiful job combining colors here, and the crisp white embellishments really set off that color combination. And look at the little birds! I just love everything about this.
Look What They Found by tettletop20
This next layout is such a good example of how to use patterned paper effectively. Jackie layered white cardstock over woodgrain paper for a great contrast. And then, to take the contrast even further, she layered a floral patterned paper over the white cardstock. By adding in the crisp white and red flowers and keeping the other colors and embellishments neutral, her photo pops off the page and the paper is highlighted as well. What a fantastic use of paper and colors!
Farm Girl by besskinn
Speaking of patterned paper, Deedee created a beautiful layout by layering five different patterns. She matted the photos to allow them to pop off the papers and the effect is wonderful. Her embellishments all consist of complementary colors and the resulting layout is fantastic.
iChew by Kathie02
Oh my goodness! There is so much to love about Kathie’s layout. First, that photo is crisp and clear and just adorable. And then the bright colors she chose totally draw your eye into the toy. And then you can’t help but be drawn to the journaling and the title. The journaling reads, “first we had an iPod, next came the iPhones and the iPad…..now we have our very own iChew!’ Anyone who has ever had a puppy can totally relate to this and Kathie’s layout captures this perfectly!
My Favorite Fishing Spot by Jennifer L
Jenny’s photo is one of my favorite photos this week. It captures childhood so beautifully. And although she has a lot of embellishments on her page, they don’t overwhelm the photo or the layout at all. She placed an embellishment cluster on the top left of the photo and then another on the bottom right. Those positions give the layout balance and move your eye through the photo perfectly.
Birthday Invitation by echogirl
Our last selection this week is a birthday invitation and I just can’t say enough about how cool this is! The themed embellishments that Doris chose are fantastic and I love that she added her daughter’s picture to it. This goes into that crafting category of “I wish I was the cool mom that made stuff like that!”
And there you have them – our gallery highlights for the week! As I say every week, I really wish we had time and space to feature more of the amazing designs out there. Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work with us this week. What were your favorite gallery layouts last week?
