Welcome to the latest edition of Gallery Highlights!

This week’s finds include some gorgeous layouts and a card with some great techniques and a lot of beautiful photos. I hope you like them all as much as I do. Let’s go take a look! Don’t forget – You can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Stanley Beach by sula.design

Sula’s layout is a gorgeous example of a great two-page design. She placed 8 photos across the middle of both pages with the title off to one side. If you look closely, you’ll see that her photo placement is not quite symmetrical – on the left, she used a large photo over two smaller photos and, on the right, she placed two smaller photos over the larger photo. That little bit of asymmetry adds interest to the layout and breaks up the flow just enough. She finished the layout by adding beautiful borders and themed embellishments. This is just a wonderful two-page design.

Little House by A2Kate

Katie’s layout is another wonderful example of great design – this time, the design highlights the lone photo beautifully. She created a heart background off-center on the page and added strips of typed journaling to the left side. On the right side, she added the photo, as well as embellishments and more strips of journaling under the photo. It’s cohesive and a lovely way to showcase this photo.

Photo-A-Day August 2012 by Lisa Pate

Lisa’s layout is part of a year-long photo-a-day project. I love the simplicity of her layout and how she centered her photos. The photos are the focal point and all she added was a title, a bit of journaling, and very faint stamps under the edges of the photo collage. Sometimes the best  layouts are the simplest one and this is a wonderful example of that.

Dream Big by voneall

Valerie’s card is just stunning! Look at all the layering she did – she combined pre-made pennants with patterned paper scraps for a really fun and festive look. She’s also included border stickers and lots of little details to make this card really stand out in the gallery.

Bedtime Stories by naomiatkins

The minute I saw Naomi’s layout, I had to stop and look closer. It is so soft and beautiful and her photos are gorgeous. She used a grid pattern and rounded the corners on her six blocks which creates a lot of interest and also softens the look. Her embellishment choices are perfect for this design, as is the color palette.

Patience by justbnsharon

This last layout is one of my absolute favorites! Sharon’s photos of her granddaughter are some of the cutest photos I’ve ever seen. She used a shaped template and used it perfectly to highlight these photos. Her embellishment cluster on the top and side are placed to draw the eye to the photos and her stamped title is perfect. What a fantastic layout!

And there you have them - our gallery highlights for the week! As I say every week, I really wish we had time and space to feature more of the amazing designs out there.  Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work with us this week.
