Gallery Highlights | 6.28.2012

Welcome to Gallery Highlights for this week!  I have some fun layouts using pastel hues this week, and a bunch of multi-photo layouts. I hope you like them all as much as I do. Let’s go take a look! You can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Senior Portraits by valeriebishop

I’ve had multiple requests for two-page layouts in the highlights, and I’m always on the lookout for them. Valerie’s layout below is a stunning example of a great way to fit a lot of photos on a two-page layout and her page is designed beautifully. She placed 12 photos slightly off-center on the layout, and added the date plus other text embellishments to the left side – which balances out the title and journaling on the right side. The pastel hues of the papers and embellishments allow her photos – both color and black-and-white – to truly shine.

How Lucky We Are by Dayna Howard

Dayna’s photos just pop off the page on this layout. Dayna placed these wonderful family photos on a black background and accented the layout with small pieces of patterned paper. By tearing and curling the edges of the papers, she added a sophisticated, shabby chic feel to the design, and it works beautifully here.

Memories by Guinevere3

This next layout is a wonderful twist on a two-page design using just one page. The vintage style, coupled with a faded photo, seaside embellishments and memory book base, makes me want to head to the beach right now!

I love Pinterest by Bethany

How many of us can relate to Bethany’s layout? Oh, how I love Pinterest and this layout! Bethany used two photo collages of Pinterest images on an 8.5 x 11 page. She layered the collages over pastel patterned papers and added movement through the layout by tilting one of the collages and placing handwritten journaling both above and below the photos.

Debi has used digital brushes and masks to perfection in this next layout. This layout is a collage of layers and embellishments and yet has a clean, graphic feel. And look at the flower – do you see the soccer ball? I love that tiny piece of the sport that this layout celebrates!

Back in the Day by Daisymeh

Layouts designed on a grid are simply classic, and this layout uses the grid pattern to perfection. Each photo is matted on black cardstock and then layered on a lighter piece of cardstock. That collage was then layered over torn pieces of patterned paper and embellished on all sides with coordinating accents. It’s simply great design!

And there you have them – our gallery highlights for the week! I only wish we had time and space to feature more of the amazing designs out there.  Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work with us this week. What were your favorite gallery layouts this week? Feel free to link us to them in the comments and let us know what you think and which are your favorites this week!

Florida, where this site is based, has been hit by devastating floods as a result of Tropical Storm Debby this past week. So we’re replacing our normal advertising in our article footer with fundraising banners for the American Red Cross, to ask our readers to please support flood relief efforts. Thanks!

The Red Cross is providing relief to those affected by floods right now
