It’s been a relatively quiet week in the scrapbook world this week…it seems many people decided to turn the Memorial Day weekend into Memorial Day week. But there’s still some news of note to share!

If you are a professional tech geek in the Dallas area, Michaels Stores has a couple of job listings you might be interested in. The listings are associated with their MiDesign service. One is for a Graphic Designer for their digital elements, and the other is for a web analytics specialist.
Registration is open now at OnlineCardClasses.com for their new class, Stretch Your Stamps! Taught by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire, the class will feature guest appearances by artists such as Ali Edwards, Claudine Hellmuth, Tim Holtz, Kim Hughes, Dawn McVey, Nichol Magouirk, and Tami Hartley. Stretch Your Stamps runs from July 9th-23rd and is priced at $25.
Ali, Jennifer and Dawn are taking part as contributors in another online stamping class that is open for registration. Studio Calico’s Summer Stamp School with Robyn Wehrlich will include an exclusive Studio Calico 4×6 stamp set that is only available to class participants. The Summer Stamp School classroom opens July 1st, and the price for registration is $29.
The Gaylord brand of hotels, consisting of four luxury resort/convention center properties, has announced that it is selling itself to Marriott for $210 million. The Gaylord Palms in Orlando hosts the annual Orlando Scrapbook Expo, and the the Gaylord Opryland has also hosted scrapbook industry events. The Gaylord name brand will continue to exist as part of the Marriott family.
Margie Romney-Aslett has announced that Spark the Event No. 4, which was tentatively planned for Fall 2012, has been postponed until Summer 2013.
