Gallery Highlights | 5.12.2012

Welcome to Gallery Highlights this week! This week’s projects are inspiring and tender, yet colorful and cheerful. I’ve found a great mix of traditional and digital layouts, as well as a beautiful set of cards. So, let’s go take a look! You can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Walking Home by Heather B.

I was immediately drawn to the circles in Heather’s layout and knew I wanted to highlight this layout right away. But there’s so many other reasons to love this layout, as well. I love the brothers quote, as well as her choice of embellishments and the placement of the off-center lines and circles along the bottom. It’s just an outstanding layout from start to finish!

Time for a Change by Rockermorsan

I usually prefer layouts with a lot of journaling but this layout tells the story so effectively that journaling is unnecessary. She created her own chevron with the phenomenal use of patterned paper and stamps, and the photo placement is perfect within the design she created.

Week 17 by justmp

I love Jodi’s Project 365 layout! This is a great alternative to Project Life and Jodi does a great job of balancing a layout that is both photo-packed and journaling-heavy. And look at the adorable ripped paper along the bottom…I just love it!

Yum by voneall

I love designing on a grid! And this layout uses a grid design to perfection. Valerie includes 4 photos, the journaling, the title and a bunch of embellishments within the grid, yet it still has a clean, fresh look. This is excellent layout design! Valerie is on the design team for the Little Black Dress kit club, and she designed this layout with their Time Flies kit.

Jump by Katie Rose

Katie used a big photo perfectly in this next layout! By placing the photo off-center, she created movement through the layout, and she used paper and embellishments on both sides of the photo to create balance. This is one of my favorite layouts using a large photo!

More than you know by donnajazz

This layout is so sweet. It’s hard not to love baby layouts, but Donna especially captures the sweetness of the moment just beautifully with her touching title, journaling and soft embellishments.

Porta Paletas Cards by Patty Tanuz

Aren’t these cards amazing? They were created by Patty, a designer who lives in Mexico, and they are so unique and eye-catching! Using beautifully bright colors and whimsical shapes, these cards would be perfect for teacher’s gifts or birthday party favors.

And there you have it – our gallery highlights for the week! I only wish I had time to feature more of the amazing designs out there.  Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work this week. What were your favorite gallery layouts this week? Feel free to link us to them in the comments and let us know what you think and which are your favorites this week!
