Gallery Highlights | 4.19.2012

Welcome back to Gallery Highlights! This is quickly becoming my favorite part of the week – looking through all the galleries and becoming completely inspired by the amazing layouts that are out there. So, let’s go take a look! You can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Maternity Photos by Brittany Lane

I just love the way Brittany used this kit to showcase her maternity photos. Not only did she put her photos in the printer’s tray but she also added beautiful little embellishment clusters that highlight the anticipation of welcoming her first child.

Rabbit by nary

This entire layout is a delight but my favorite part is the way the designer used black as a way to bring attention to the photos – the color black appears both above and below the photos. Even though there are many layers here and a lot of detail, the black patterned paper and embellishments really grounds the photos.

On the Hunt by Regina Mangum

Look at how Regina used twine in this adorable Easter layout! She stitched the outside of the smaller eggs with baker’s twine and then wrapped up the large egg with the same twine. They’re absolutely adorable touches!

Obsessed by Melissa Stinson

I am obsessed with Melissa’s “Obsessed” layout. She has used such soft, delicate colors and embellishments to complement the soft floral photos. It’s the perfect way to create a mood in a layout!

Lazing on the Big Chair by cox3349

This layout really caught my eye immediately. The way the designer used the die cuts, stitching, and layering is wonderful!

Shine by MelBlackburn

The details in Melanie’s layout below are fantastic! She used layer after layer of patterned paper, stitching, and other embellishments to  create a beautiful palette of color that highlights the black and white photo. This is gorgeous use of patterned paper and color!

And there you have it – the gallery highlights for this week!  Thanks so much to all of the designers who shared their work this week. What were your favorite gallery layouts this week? Feel free to link us to them in the comments!

I wish ther were more double page layouts. It seems like the trend is just one or a few photos on a single page. I am still very content with double page scrapbooking. Is this a lost art now???? Just wondering. Diane
