Gallery Highlights | 4.13.2012

[Editor's Note: This is the first article in a new weekly series. This feature is a fun one and promises to be full of inspiration! Our goal is to find layouts and cards and other paper crafts in the various online galleries that are worthy of a special highlight - those that really jumped out at us when we looked through the gallery and made us want to take a closer look. I hope you enjoy this series as much as we do. -- Nancy]

What fun this is going to be to do – I get to browse galleries full of fabulousness and call it work! Looking through the galleries this week, these projects grabbed my attention immediately. How about we take a closer look? You can click on the links to visit the layouts in their galleries and view supply lists, leave a comment for the designer, or view the designer’s other work.

Cloud Watching by Kelly Noel

What a beautiful and innovative layout this first one is! I love the die-cut clouds and the soft floral paper contrasted with the woodgrain background paper. It’s a beautiful layout that really sets a mood immediately.

Song in My Heart Card by Kathy Montgomery

Can you say, “Wow!!!”? This card is absolutely stunning – combining a delicate shade of gray with white and a bright yellow base really makes a statement. This result is gorgeous!

Week 14 of Project Life by KimR+

This next page is part of a digital two-page Project Life spread but I love it on its own. It’s got a great mix of color and journaling and photos. Kim was able to get an incredible amount of detail on this page without the detail overwhelming the photos. What a fantastic Project Life layout!

Cutie by yuko tanaka

I love the contrast between the soft, sweet photos and the brightly-colored embellishments in the layout below. I also love the way the banner tags at the top left add balance to the layout.

Sunshine Girl by Georgia Heald

The trendy hexagons immediately caught my eye on this beautiful layout! I love the stitching, the shading, the intricate layering – all of it!

Dream by chelseavn

What an eye-catcher! The layering of elements under the photo is such a wonderful way to make sure the photo is the focus of this layout.

Walking in Puddles by trinacraig

I love the tilted photo with all the layering underneath it. The design and the paint splatters add the perfect amount of movement to this layout.

Hello Bunny by Kayleigh Wiles

Oh my goodness! Have you ever seen a cuter bunny than Kayleigh’s new baby?! This layout is absolutely adorable – I love the soft colors and the element clusters. And who can resist a baby with bunny ears? :)

Hello Friend card by Kimber McGray

The row of cameras is fantastic! Combined with the bright red pops of color in the hearts scattered across the front, this card immediately makes an impact.

Waiting by marcypenner

I love the circles of stitching! Combined with the embellishments and the cluster of photos in the middle of the circle, the focus is clearly on the photos. There’s fantastic use of white space, too.

And there you have it – the best and brightest from this week’s gallery postings around the web! Thanks to all of the designers who shared their work this week. What were your favorite gallery layouts this week? Feel free to link us to them in the comments!
