As I’ve mentioned in a previous post about a card I made for my husband, for the past 15 months I’ve not been able to mail him anything that had glued layers on it (or really any attached layers at all). As a scrapbooker who likes to make cards, this has been challenging.
Or at least I thought it was. Until I saw Kristina Werner’s four part blog series on one layer cards that concluded Friday. She makes it look so easy to make one layer cards that I couldn’t believe that I’d been struggling!
I can’t wait to take some of her techniques and concepts for one layer cards out for a try. My favorite is this monochromatic card. I would never have thought to try for a monochromatic graphic effect like this, but now that I’ve seen it I can’t wait to try it:
Another thing that Kristina accomplished was giving me a reason to love border stamps, which I’ve never been a huge fan of until I saw what she did with them here!
To see the other three cards Kristina made, and to find out what supplies she used (and even watch videos about how Kristina made them!) check out the One Layer Card series on Kristina Werner’s website!
