I hadn’t planned on doing a whole table about the cameras but they will be referenced in a Thanksgiving week article I’m planning. I can tell you it looks like the best dSLR deal that I’ve seen so far is the Canon T3 (it looks like that is the one that Canon is discounting this year) for about $479.
Thanks Nancy! My husband gave me the go ahead to get myself a dslr as an early Christmas/birthday present. After doing a little research, I think I’m going to go with the Canon T2i. The T3i is just too expensive! I even thought about the T1i, but I don’t think that has live view, which I think I really want. I just saw the T2i and the T1i on sale at Best Buy for the same price. I’m wondering if one of them is going to be a special on Black Friday.
You’ll actually do better buying the T3i on sale on Black Friday than buying the T2i at regular price. Office Max, Staples, Target and Walmart are all selling the T3i with a kit bundle on Black Friday for $479. Each year Canon chooses one of it’s low end dslr models to offer at a massive discount on Black Friday…looks like this year it is the T3i. That price is a massive bargain! (The sale on the T3i means that the other models won’t be offered on huge sales. Only one Canon dslr model per year gets that deal seems to be the system.)
It may not be the lowest end model, but the T3 will actually be the cheapest Canon camera this holiday season because they’ve chosen it as the one they are offering huge discounts on, which will make it cheaper than the regular prices on the older models.
