Family Tag Feud: Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of the Family Tag Feud! (Yes, we’re still a day behind…I guess we’re stretching out the fun to make it last a bit longer!)

If you have any questions about how the tags are made, we will probably wait to answer most of them in the reveal at the end so that we can answer without trying to hide the identity of the artist. But in the meantime…ask away!

Today we both tried to do some somewhat new things for us, and some trial – and error – was the result before we finally produced the tags we are posting. It’s amazing how long – and how many steps – it can take to produce something that looks to the eye to be very simple.

Well, let’s take a look at what we came up with today…the tag stash is getting pretty thick. I hope the binder ring I’m planning to use will hold them all when I’m ready to arrange them all nicely!

Pantone Announces Color of 2011

Pantone has announced its 2011 Color of the Year. The color is Pantone 18-2120, known more familiarly as “Honeysuckle”.

Described by the company as a “reddish pink” the tone definitely plays into the ongoing vintage theme in the scrapbook industry. Because it also coordinates well with the 2010 color of the year, turquoise (which was seen widely in scrapbook products the past year) we’ve actually already been seeing some of this tone in product lines that are already on store shelves. Family Tag Feud: Day 7

It’s time for the day 7 tags of the Family Tag Feud!

It’s surprising how challenging we are finding it trying to create this volume of tags from the limited amount of Christmas seasonal items in my stash and that we got out shopping when we were preparing for this. I typically don’t buy a ton of seasonal stuff so we are trying to get creative with a lot of non-seasonal items. We actually had to make an emergency Michael’s run today for more supplies for future tags!

For today’s tags we did actually find some things in the stash, though, that we hadn’t used yet. We both (coincidentally) decided to use Tim Holtz’s beautiful Odds & Ends ticket stamp set for the first time, for one.

[FYI, if you are following along with Tim Holtz's 12 Tags, all of his products are on sale right now at Scrapbook.com for 15% off. You know what I call that? Job security for my UPS man! Haha.]
