So, if you’ve seen the Scrapbook Update Black Friday Scrapbook Sales page, you know that there are an awful lot of scrappy sales happening this holiday weekend. But how do you know which ones on that massive list are any good? Let’s break them down by category a bit.
In the area of specific products, let’s take a look first at the mandatory Cricut Wars sales (perhaps the most confusing of all the deals, since there are so many sales on these items), and find the best deals by model:
Cricut Create: $149 at both Walmart and Amazon. (I give the advantage to Amazon on this one since having the UPS man bring it to your house with free shipping is less stress-inducing than fighting the Black Friday crowds at Walmart, or having to drive to the store to pick it up later from the site-to-store free shipping.)
Cricut Expression: $148 at Menard’s on a Black Friday early bird special; if you don’t have Menard’s near you, the next best deal is Walmart at $185 for the machines that come in four decorator colors.
Cricut Imagine: $449 at Jo-Ann Stores and Joann.com (available now)
Cricut Gypsy: $99 at Michael’s (no coupons)
Cricut Cartridges: Prices are fairly competitive (within a couple dollars) everywhere. Best destination depends mostly on what cartridges you want (since availability varies) and what other items you want to purchase as well.
There are some great deals to be had on other die cutting equipment besides Cricut, however. Most of the deals are on manual equipment, with one exception: Jo-Ann Stores is running a doorbuster on Saturday on the Slice machine for $49.99. That is an insane deal on a machine that has an MSRP of $149.99.
If you want a Sizzix machine or want to buy more dies for your existing one, several stores are competing heavily this weekend to get you to visit them.
Sizzix Holiday Themed Dies: 75% off at Jo-Ann Stores (Friday-Sunday)
If you are looking to get organized, another item that can be large-ticket for scrapbookers, there are some really great deals to be had this weekend. Sales on organizing items are really widespread, but here are a few of the best bargains:
Iris 12×12 Scrapbook Case 3pk: $5.79 at Michaels. (while supplies last, no coupons)
Cropper Hopper 10 Drawer Scrapbook Cart: $34.99 at Jo-Ann Stores (Friday doorbuster, while supplies last, reg. $89.99)
Scrapbook Storage, Entire Stock: 55% off at Michaels (Thursday only)
JetMax Modular Storage Units: 60% off at AC Moore (Friday & Saturday, while supplies last)
If you want to score deals on products that aren’t technically on sale, or increase your savings on sale items, your best bet is AC Moore and Michaels. They are both running coupons on Friday that are good until noon for an extra 30% off sale and regular priced items. (Doorbusters are excluded and the usual coupon exclusions also apply.)
For brand loyal fanatics, you may want to check out the sales at Scrapbook.com and Addictedtoscrapbooking.com – they are offering slates of “brand wide” sales. Scrapbook.com is offering a single brand per day for six days, while Addicted is offering tiered sales on a large range of brands.
And perhaps the hottest deal of all is actually a clearance sale…if you are a Project Life by Becky Higgins fan and have been delaying buying the kit (or want a 2nd one), Friday is the day to do it. The Project Life kit will be on clearance at Amazon.com, where Becky sells it:
Project Life by Becky Higgins kit: $29.99 at Amazon.com (clearance, starts Friday)
So, that’s the best of the sales…happy (and safe) shopping everyone!
