Picks of the Week:

Peter Walsh talks quite a bit specifically about scrapbooking in It’s All Too Much. The opening chapter of the book is all about an example where the wife is hoarding scrapbook supplies, and later in the book a whole section is devoted to scrapbooking and craft supplies.

Happy 6th Birthday, Scrapbook Update!

Happy birthday to us! Today is Scrapbook Update’s 6th birthday!

Of course, six years ago a lot of things were different about Scrapbook Update…including its name. Back then we were called Inside Scrapbooking, and we were hosted on Typepad. We didn’t even have our own domain! Rather than reporting news, it was just me (Nancy) writing about the trials and travails of being a struggling designer in the industry. For a look at the article that started it all, check out Living in a Scrapbook Time Warp, which is all about the challenges of creating while following the editorial print calendar.

Over time, the site evolved into what it is today: a family business that is the industry’s leading trade journal, providing news and information that scrapbook businesses need. We mix in a few fun things too, since all work and no play…makes for stressed out scrapbookers!

So, happy birthday to us…but most of all, we want to take this opportunity to say thanks to all of our sponsors and readers who make the site possible and who make doing our jobs fun. And many thanks to Contributing Writer May Flaum for contributing her creative genius to Scrapbook Update. Thanks to all of you for all of your support and participation! We appreciate it immensely.
