Pink Paislee Starts “Creative Lifestyle” Magazine

Pink Paislee has recently made available for download on its website the debut issue of its new quarterly publication Live Pink, which it is describing as a “creative lifestyle magazine”.

The publication is edited by Crystal Jeffrey Rieger. Contributing Designers are listed as Jennifer Beason, Erin Terrell Clarkson, Roree Rumph, and Nicole Samuels. In the debut issue, there is also the sketch article credited to Valerie Salmon, as well as a profile of Janet Hopkins (of House of 3).

The premiere issue is 16 pages in pdf form. Subtracting out a couple of full-page ads for other companies, the cover and the table of contents, there are about a dozen pages of editorial content in the magazine. The intended regular features appear to include columns about sketches and budget scrapbooking.

The issue, intended to cover the first quarter of 2010, shows on page 4 the collections which were released at CHA Summer 2009 as “in stores now”. A separate listing inside the front cover shows the three collections that were shown at CHA Winter 2010 and which Pink Paislee plans to ship in March.

Scrapbook Update Editor Nancy Nally to Appear in Tampa

I’m pleased to announce that I will be visiting Tampa next month to give a presentation about scrapbooking developments from the CHA Winter 2010 show to the Tampa Bay Scrapbooking Guild.

The event is scheduled for March 30th at 7pm at the Milk n’ Honey Tea Room in Tampa, FL. For registration information, please visit the Tampa Bay Scrapbooking Guild website. Seating is limited so register early. I’m looking forward to getting out and visiting with other scrapbookers and sharing CHA happenings with them. And maybe I’ll share some giveaways too…hint, hint. Don’t miss out!

Besides the meeting, there is another opportunity for a Scrapbook Update reader meet-up. I’m going to need to eat dinner in Tampa before the Guild meeting since it is a long drive in from my home. If you are interested in meeting up with me for dinner that evening (March 30th) in the Tampa area, drop me an email at scrapbookupdate [at] gmail.com.

CHA Summer 2010 Website is Live!

Yes, it is time to start thinking about CHA Summer 2010 already! The Craft & Hobby Association has transitioned the CHA show website from displaying information about the Winter 2010 show that just passed to the Summer 2010 show that will be coming in July.

The CHA Summer 2010 trade show takes place in Rosemont, IL at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center from July 27th-29th, 2010. Educational seminars begin on July 26th.

Travel information is one of the things that has already been posted on the website, and the hotel reservations system is active for the participating convention hotels. Some of these hotels are offering extra discounts for rooms booked before March 15th, so book early!

Starting March 1st, CHA will be accepting applications via the show website from CHA members who wish to present education programs. The final submission deadline is Monday, March 22nd.
