Michaels Increases Gypsy Promotion

Michaels has increased the value of the promotion that they are running with the purchase of the Cricut Gypsy.

It appears that Michaels and other retailers are restricted from discounting the price of the Gypsy, so Michaels is using the classic retail tactic of “discounting” it by providing more value for the $299 MSRP they have to charge. (This is a similar pricing tactic to the one used in the HSN promotion for the Gypsy launch, where the Gypsy was bundled with a large number of accessories for the $299 MSRP.) The new Michaels promotion, effective until 10/31, includes a huge bonus of Cricut points (a total of 800) and two free Solutions cartridges via mail-in rebate.

Really? No one can discount it? Then tell that to the scrapbook stores taking pre-orders and there is a ton of freebies with them too. I have seen it for 239.00 this week. I also have heard Costco is gonna carry it. Just like they did the Cricut which I got for half price when it came out. Provo is playing games as is Michaels.

I echo Jan’s comment. I was in my local Michael’s store this past Sunday, and the Gypsy is being sold for $179.99….just the Gypsy by itself with no other values to go along with it. They have a prominent display for the Gypsy and then have the other add-ons like the phone charger, lanyards, the sleeve and other items all at an additional charge…and might I add more expensive than stores that are taking pre-orders. I got mine from HSN at the world premiere. You cannot always believe what Provo and Michaels are saying.
