The Anaheim City Council and Mayor Curt Pringle have officially proclaimed Friday, January 23rd to be Kid’s Craft Day in Anaheim.
To thank the City of Anaheim for being a wonderful host for the CHA convention, CHA and some of its members are sponsoring a Kids Craft Fair on the 23rd. It will take place at the Anaheim Police Activities League (APAL/Cops4Kids) Youth Center at 225 S. Philadelphia Street from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
TV host and CHA spokesperson Terri O. will host the event. CHA member participants donating time and supplies to the event include Sakura of America, FloraCraft, Duncan, Perler Beads, Great American Scrapbook Conventions, Creative Hands, EK Success Brands, Maude Asbury, Michaels Stores, Creative Imaginations, Scrapbook Royalty, Spanish Memories, Darice, Dark Diva Designs, Kreinik, This N That Scrapbooking & More, and Julianna Hudgins.
“Giving back to the kids is great! Kids Craft Day is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to explore their creativity, learn new skills and have a unique experience,” explained Georgina Meza, APAL/Cops4Kids Program Director. “Kids love to do new things and Kids Craft Day offers just that. We are very grateful to the Craft & Hobby Association for sponsoring this event.”
CHA Member and owner/founder of Maude Asbury, Joe Spiegelberg, accepted the City’s proclamation on behalf of CHA and explained why the event is important: “In these difficult economic times, we are all trying to make sense of life’s challenges. I believe it is time to slow down and focus on all that is good in our world. We are all blessed, have many happy memories, and many more that we are creating every day. This is a very small way we can help.”
