Michael’s has started circulating an email promoting their Thanksgiving weekend sales. There are some major changes from past years. It looks like Turkey Bucks are a thing of the past, and they will be open Thanksgiving Day for a few hours!
Instead of the tiered discounting of past years’ Turkey Bucks, this year they are using a simpler system of a flat percentage off your whole purchase. The terms (whether it is just for regular price or for sale stuff too) and discount amount vary depending on whether you are in store before or after noon on Saturday. There is also a good coupon for between 6pm and 9pm on Thanksgiving Day if you simply can’t stand your family one minute longer after the turkey is eaten. (HAHAHA)
I’ve added the coupons as well as the “special buys” that are being promoted in the email to the scrapbook sale guide for Black Friday so all the deals are in one place. (You have to tab through multiple pages of the email to see them all.) If you’d like to view the email to print coupons, it’s available online.
I’ve seen a rumor that Michael’s will be letting you “stack” coupons on Friday as long as they don’t have the same SKU (such as the newspaper flyer coupons and the 20% off coupons from a magazine), but I have no way of confirming if this is true or not. I will certainly be carrying my other coupons with me just in case when I stop by Michael’s sometime this weekend, since it can’t hurt to be prepared.
I’ve also added more information to the listings about the Best Buy doorbuster items (which you have to get in line early and get a ticket to purchase), and a few online sales – including a great sale on the Sizzix Big Shot Machine at Scrapbook.com all this week.
Watch for more updates as the day progresses!
Update: And timing is everything…just as I was about to hit publish on this post I got an email from Joann.com advertising their special online-only doorbusters for Thanksgiving Day with some fabulous deals! I’ll be adding them to the scrapbook sale guide in a moment but they include a Heidi Swapp Foam stamp set (reg. $44.99) for $12.99, and $4 for a reg. $14.99 box of DCWV cards. Also there is a huge deal on an OttLite.
