If you are looking for some submitting opportunities for your scrapbooking, here’s a couple of contests and calls that have come to my attention in the past few days:
Dymo Caption Maker – Get Your Scrapbook Featured In A Dymo Ad!
Dymo is running a contest to promote their new Caption Maker tool. Similar to the classic Dymo tape labeler that we are all familiar with, the Caption Maker comes with three interchangeable wheels for upper case, lower case and a script font. Entering the contest requires submitting a layout created with captions (Dymo recommends using the Caption Maker, of course, but it is not required) and a 100 word essay describing the inspiration for the layout. Five finalists will be posted for public judging on the Dymo website, and the contest winner’s scrapbook will be featured in a Dymo ad! Deadline for entries is December 31st, 2008.
Piggy Tales and 3M Design Team Call
In a somewhat unusual move from manufacturers, 3M and Piggy Tales have issued a joint design team call. The call requires submitting three layouts and one altered item that use both Piggy Tales products and 3M products.
The team members will be required to create 3 monthly projects and submit them along with supply lists and instructions. Participation in the companies’ message boards is also required, along with submission of the monthly projects to magazines, creation of projects for and participation at trade shows, and designing for make and takes or classes.
Exclusivity of design team members is encouraged. Compensation is based on project publication in approved publications, and team members will also receive free product.
Deadline for submissions is Dec. 15th. (If you need products to create for the call, there is a good selection of Piggy Tales at Scrapbook.com, and 3M at A Cherry On Top.)
